I wonder if they would be open to a trade of three 1st round picks for the 1st overall pick. Probably would cost more than three first round picks, but it would help them restock their prospect pool.
When I saw the Sharks got 2nd, I thought maybe they would like something we have on our roster that could go with some picks.

Hard to believe Toronto will trade away the #1OA with Matthews on the block, but I agree with your reasoning.

Not a bad idea, but hoping to move a veteran forward or two. Fowler?
Neighbors, Parayko, 15 for 2?
If Parayko would waive to go play with Orlov, I would trade him for the 2nd OA and Dickinson.
Instead of Neighbours...Kyrou??
Kyrou won’t waive for California taxes

Toronto wouldn't trade the pick for our 3 first rounders and our whole team. Teams (other than the Blues) understand the criticality of having elite HOF talent.

Probably, but a team like Toronto needs to restock their system and there is no better way than to get 3 first rounders. A team like the Blues has a deeper organization and it would benefit to pick up a player like McKenna. Win - Win. Blues might need to throw in a sweetener.

The Blues wouldn’t offer that trade for one
There isn’t no Patrick Kane at the top of the draft
We need a center not a winger to mortgage 3 top picks for anyway

Nowhere has Parayko stated he wanted to go out west.

I think it was implied around trade deadline that if he were to waive, it would have to be a city that's closer to home.

To me, that means EDM or CAL. Maybe Seattle. SJ and STL are a 200 mile difference. Not really closer. I guess I could see where he mainly was saying he doesn't want to go further away (BUF), and could also see him not wanting to stay in the Central if traded.

Good thing we kept winning all those games at the end or that could’ve been us with the first…

Kevin Weekes said he was told Parayko would be open to waiving to a team in the west. He didn’t say that anyone close to Parayko, the blues of the Sabres said that. He also didn’t say that Parayko would definitely waive to go west. He also didn’t say Parayko would only go west.

That report has been spun into a completely wrong, and self serving narrative on this board.

The Sharks had the same amount of points as the Blues. All this shows us is that once again lotteries are the dumbest way to decide draft picks.

I don’t mind it.
Discourages tanking from teams.
Vancouver tanked about as well as they possibly could….
Not really worth it IMO

Every system is going to have it's flaws. No matter the method someone is going to complain. This isn't picking on you specifically, just that there is no perfect method.

Again, people calling Kevin Weekes a liar.

What did Weekes have to gain by lying?

This isn't the GOTCHA you think it is. You just don't seem to understand how words work.

Correct. Parayko himself has never said anything, and we have no direct quote from anyone associated with him that it is true. All we do know is he refused the trade, and he is still a Blue and likely retires one.
