I stumbled on to a Philly Flyers website (not the official one) and the point of the article posted was the following scenario. With the Leafs hanging on to their "top 5 protected" 1st rounder in '26, then the Flyers get the Leafs 1st round pick in "27 [stemming from the Scott Laughton trade] and the Bruins get bumped down a year to get the Leafs 1st round pick in '28 [stemming from the Brandon Carlo trade]. I had not seen this mentioned on the asylum. If that published article is accurate (on the web, it's gotta be, right?), Toronto is going to be sucking on some sour pickles trading away all that draft capital only to get booted out of the playoffs quicklike in previous years. Enjoy your #1 overall this year Leafs fans, the cupboard is NOT stocked!

I can see trading 1st rounders, but to trade first rounders in consecutive years for those guys? Treliving likely shouldn't be employed again.
