The really good news to me is that those five players are a great 5 players to start building an offense around. If Baez and Crooks/Bernal/Rodriguez make it up in the next year or two, that could end up being 7-8 really good players in the lineup. Missing a CFer, but they could always sign one or trade for one when the time comes. Or maybe Tai Peete is that guy.

However you look at it, the offensive future of this team looks pretty good.

I agree. I just watched Peete hit in today's Peoria game and he has a very sweet swing. He can play CF (as can Josh Baez). He's a LONG way off but he has the tools.

Church is the disappointing one to me. He was always around an 8-10% BB player in the minors, and is carrying a 4% now. You have to think he feels pressured to hit more, to keep a job. Hopefully he gets more comfortable, and doubles his BB rate.

Other than that, I really like Church and what he brings to the table.

You’re comparing apples and oranges. Crooks has something like 38 strikeouts in 90 ABs. He could literally strike out 50% of the time in the big leagues.

Church is hitting better and hitting the ball hard. Maybe Torres is a better hitter. It’s unclear. Church had over a .900 OPS last season.

Minor league stats clearly don’t always directly translate to MLB
