How is the DH situation shaping up?

Post by Shady »

Obviously, it's Herrera when not catching. When he's catching and an opposing RHP, is it Prieto DH with Gorman, obviously, at 3B? Will Urias srill be at 3B with a LHP starter? Or does Marmol stay with Gorman at 3B even vs lefties? And who's the primary DH vs LHP when Herrera is catching?

Herrera catches 1/3 of the games. Then you take another 1/5 of that 1/3 for vs. LHP...I don't think anyone in their right mind would issue a Primary DH decision for so few games.

And the Primary DH is playing 1B and his "Shape" is "Round"

honestly, your OP's are garbled nonsense, making heads or tails takes work....so I looked for Key Words.... DH and Shape.

can't wait for the All-Star Break :D

If we’re patient, eventually the answer will come back around to “Nootbaar,” and then “Baez” (in yet another new thread, of course).

I look for Marmol to have Prieto in the lineup at DH the next time Herrera catches and there's a RH starting pitcher.

Duce as always.....noble effort on your part. LOL
As you stated:
Herrera is the prinary DH.
When he catches it has generally been Gorman.
If a LH starter when Herrera catching....and you don’t want to use Gorman...there are multiple RH possibilities.
Also....as others have stated....soon Noot will be in the mix. Others could be also(Baez, etc).

Have a great day Duce!

I think you just answered your own question?
Herrera- primary DH roughly 2/3 of the time.
Gorman- Herrera catching and RH SP he is the DH.
Urias plays 3B being the better fielder.
Numerous RH bats available- If LH SP.

I wish you the best of days, too.

Now let's start targeting pick 84 from Round 3....Injured power hitters Daniel Cuvet (Miami), Myles Bailey (FSU), would make great 1B...and I expect them to rise quickly through the system. This would alleviate several problems for the Team and CT.

Maybe more of a guarantee with 1st round Ace Reese (Miss. St.) moving to 1B? I"m not sure that Kade Lewis (WF) lasts until the 3rd round....he would be gone by the 50th pick.

Several option there.

Looks like I called it on Prieto being in the lineup. However he is at 3B and Gorman is the DH.

Urias was put on the IL and Saggese probably isn’t back to St. Louis yet. So it was kind of obvious.

It wasn't "kind of obvious". Especially, starting at 3B instead of Gorman there. They must like Prieto's defense at 3B.

He took Urias' spot in the lineup, you dolt. So, YES, it was very obvious he'd take the spot. They made a late decision on Urias, Saggese with no time to get to the ballpark on time from Toledo.

Does anybody have a theory as to why Preito is playing 3B instead of Gorman? Even if Urias was in the original lineup at 3B. They could have easily switched Gorman to 3B and Prieto to DH.
