Good morning.
Did you know, that the Yanks with 41WS appearances, and the Cards with 19, have only met 5 times in World Series. Five! And none in 62 years.
In fact it’s been so long, most here were boys; I was 8.
The fascination here is the 62 years. Between teams a combined 60 appearances.
Just sayin.
Yankees/Cardinals have only met 5 times…

And the Cardinals have won 3 of those 5 World Series, one of the few teams with a winning record against the Yankees.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑05 May 2026 09:49 am Good morning.

Cardinals won in 1926 (100 years ago with the Pete Alexander heroics!), 1942, and 1964. The Yankees swept in 1928 so that would help explain their advantage in games played.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑05 May 2026 10:08 amI thought the yanks won three- with a 15-13 game advantage.sp25 wrote: ↑05 May 2026 10:07 amAnd the Cardinals have won 3 of those 5 World Series, one of the few teams with a winning record against the Yankees.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑05 May 2026 09:49 am Good morning.

To THIS DAY I still feel like if we had played the Yankees in 2004 instead of the Red Sox we would have won it all
