Urias is not hitting (0.158/0.279/0.316/0.595) and he's committed 3 errors at 3B in just 144 innings. He's not a prospect, but just a gap filler. He's expendable at some point and could eventually be replaced with Torres. Preito and Torres can manage his innings at 3B.
Scott is a seperate deal. I'm rooting for VSII, but when Noot returns, I can see him headed back to AAA.
I've said all along, why is he here?
Urias offers a really good glove who can play all four OF positions. He has hits RHP well and, given the type of contract, doesn't require a lot of playing time.
Maybe. But, he hasn't done any of those things this season:
  • He's committed 4 errors already (1 at 1B with just 15 innings, 3 at 3B in just 144 innings.
He's not hitting RHP, actually worse than LHP - .122/.213/.171/.384 - No HRs
I'm not saying drop him today (or even soon), but if the trends continue, he could be moved easily.
    1. My bad. I meant LHP.
    2. Though he has committed 3 errors, historically, we know he's better than that. He also hit 2 HR in like the first week. We all know that's not part of his game either.

These are the type of unsexy pickups that tend to pay off during a 162 game season.
I will be gone before they play 162 games. I think one more lousy game, and they will tell him so long.

You think they're close to DFAing him? That would surprise me.

You have been wrong many times before. And why not? He has added nothing. Not only his errors, but he cost them a game throwing to the wrong base.

Late last year. Similar time as Church, Crooks

Yeah, Prieto was called up last year and played a little in STL.

You've been wrong a ton since the offseason. I see you walking away from Saggese support. Nice.

No one is going to say Urias has had a great month. But I'm not sure it warrants a DFA in early May. Especially w the team seemingly wanting to play Gorman a lot.

You have said that before and I never was a huge Saggsese fan. That was Cranny that always sang his praises. I do hope thou Saggese goes down to Memphis and gets his stroke and hitting ability going, he then could be the replacement for Urias.

Prieto makes more sense now with the Urias IL move. I'm sure Bloom saw this coming
