No way O'Brien should have had to be used tonight.
Winning with this bullpen is not sustainable.

My opinion is that O'Brien did not have to be used tonight.11WSChamps wrote: ↑04 May 2026 22:50 pm No way O'Brien should have had to be used tonight.
Winning with this bullpen is not sustainable.
Cardinals led by 3 runs with one out and a runner on 1st base.
The mathematical odds of the Brewers winning that game were 1.5% Below is the MLB Gameday in that situation.
Brice Turang homers (5) on a fly ball to center field. Jackson Chourio scores.
MIL 3,STL 6
MILwin probability:1.5%(0.
So no Oli did not have to use O'Brien as the odds were overwhelmingly in his favor to still win the game.
I believe Oli wanted to play it very safe by putting in his closer. If by that 1.5% , that 1 or 2 games in 100 that the Brewers would take the lead thern Oli gets 2nd guessed up the kazoo. So he played it super cautious . I don't blame him as A. it was a divisional game B. the first game of the series he wants to win to enhance his chances of winning the series .

This has nothing to do with Oli.
It's about the personnel in the bullpen and how he should have never had to make that decision.
