Cardinals might still need an upgrade at #6 in the lineup

Post by Shady »

Who could it be? Nootbaar, Church or maybe even Baez in a month or so. Winn is a #8 hitter.

At least we aren't still watching Winn bat cleanup. When you think about that, that tells you the kind of savior Walker has been for the season and also seemingly the entire future of the ballclub.

Currently, Winn's BA is higher than everyone else on the team not named Jordan Walker.

Winn also has a .357 obp. In case you haven't looked lately Shady you big dumb pudding. Oh and that is higher than Burleson. You still think he should hit 8th?

Regardless of all the noise, the point is valid that Winn would be better suited to hit in the bottom third of the lineup. We hope to develop better bats for 5 and 6, right?

Needs to hit RH and not be a C. At least not named Pages or Pozo.

Nootbaar will likely fit in at 6. If and when he's traded and Baez is ready, Baez seems like a good fit at 6. When Pages is in the line up he's at 8 and Winn is at 7. Eventually, it seems to be Church in CF hitting 9th. Although Scott could still be in the mix there. Currently, vs RHP, when Herrera is catching, Gorman at 3B batting 5th and Prieto DH batting 6th or 7th. Prieto is a fine lefty bat.

For those keeping score at home, in response to your own repetitive thread topic/question, you’ve now answered that Nootbaar should bat: a) leadoff (1st); b) last (9th); and now c) 6th. What will the answer be tomorrow?
