I was busy yesterday and unable to pay much attention. DId Oli mention why he tinkered with the lineup and flipped Walker/Burly? Assuming it was a L/R matchup thing but it clearly didn't so nice to see them back to what I guess is now, normal? lol

Oli cannot help himself. That regular lineup that was working so well was just too much.

Yeah it was because of the lefty. Lineup went LRR-LRR-LRR

side note....Skubal is experiencing Stage#1 of the Hjerpe Elbow. Cleaning out debris from around the elbow.

Our very own Ixan Henderson skipped Stage#1, and went directly for Stage#2..."Rest".

Both stages always lead to Stage#3 of Hjerpe Elbow....what I call "Reality", but the medical field calls TJ Surgery or UCL replacement/reconstruction.

Skubal will miss most of the next 3-4 seasons b/c of Hjerpe Elbow Disease.

Why players don't go for "Reality" Stage 3 straight away is beyond me. They waste 2 years going through the first 2 stages. I know Skubal's biggest concern is this screwing up his Free Agency. Anyone signing him long term after this season will have to knowingly bite the bullet until 2030, I doubt he plays in 20 games from now until then, but he'll make 35 million a year sipping cocktails on the beach while he recovers through the Stages.

Although I agree the Cardinals could do a better job of steering clear of the injured and injury risk type pitchers, I also think they just need to be better prepared for the inevitability of pitching injuries. And really the only thing that's effective is acquiring enough quality pitching to improve your chances. I suppose having a lot of knowledgeable people to support and advise the staffs might be helpful, but to say it's not an exact science is a huge understatement. I think in our market, the Cardinals will always be better served going heavy on pitching early in the draft, and they need a better international talent pool, as well. Flood the system with arms, and boring as it is, prioritize defense on the hitting side.

I just wish he would've had the TJ surgery in 2023, instead of the Cleanup surgery. And then he chooses "Rest" in 2024 instead of TJ surgery. Finally, the Ligament completely breaks in Spring of 2025. All that time wasted, when they easily Reconstruct/Replace the ligament.

Skubal is just trying to fake out the market.
