Re: DRAFT LOTTERY
Troy Brouwer decision was a good move by the Blues. His clutch goal against the Hawks helped put the dagger in their org. was also the catalyst for the Blues turning the corner and getting a cup.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:01 amWhen was the first time?callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:00 am i definitely think it would be funny to stick it to the hawks 1 last time. The dagger was deep way before that happened thanks to Scotty Bowman....they were basically a zombie at that point.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:03 amTroy Brouwer decision was a good move by the Blues. If the Blues were to get #1 and #5, I will never, EVER complain about the lottery being rigged for the blackhawks again.

Re: DRAFT LOTTERY
It was still one of the biggest moves in Blues history. Shipping off what was a fan favorite and one of the most skilled Blues in the modern era. To make the trade for someone who was a perennial 40 point guy who provided playoff sandpaper at the expense of a young 50-60 point guy, took a lot of guts. They got to see it actually come to fruition. Very rarely does that happen. And the kicker it being a former cup winning team and they were defending it and he beats them. You can't tell me that moment wasn't huge in Blues hockey/Hawks Hockey Lore.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:16 amThe dagger was deep way before that happened thanks to Scotty Bowman....they were basically a zombie at that point.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:03 amTroy Brouwer decision was a good move by the Blues. Re: DRAFT LOTTERY
Then you are a flat out liar. The Hawks have been abysmal since that date. They were a veteran team that could have won a 4th cup. The Blues and Brouwer shut them down in one of the most heart wrenching ways possible. The double doink that Chicago knows about echod from the football field to the hockey net.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:38 amIt wasn't.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:30 am You can't tell me that moment wasn't huge in Hawks Hockey Lore.

Anything you say after this denial is blind homerism. The Blues are 24-8-5 against the Hawks since 2016. Huge turn of events for the rivalry that one would argue is somewhat dormant because of how inept the hawks have been.

They won three cups during the Kane and Toews era. I'm sorry man...but losing to Saint Louis in round one isn't on anybody's radar in Chicago.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:51 amThen you are a flat out liar. So, you believe the 2013 Stanley Cup Champion does deserve an asterisk…BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:38 amIt wasn't.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:30 am You can't tell me that moment wasn't huge in Hawks Hockey Lore.

I don't know a single Hawks fan who attributes how bad they are now to anything the Blues did.

Yeah I mean I live in Chicago. When the Blues won that series my wife and I literally popped champagne lol. Our Hawks fan friends just shrugged. After 3 Cups they were doing just fine.

I was actually in Cancun for Game 7. We saw a game in Chicago which the Blues won then left for vacation. The game wasnt on at our resort so we walked to the next one and the bar was full of a bunch of Hawks fans. They were super aggro and confident, till they werent lol. Good timesBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑04 May 2026 10:58 amThey won three cups during the Kane and Toews era. Re: DRAFT LOTTERY
You know what's better than a Crawfish Dinner? 5 Crawfish Dinner. Not saying the Blues led to the disfunction of the org. But it's nice to know their last crack at a cup was ended by the Blues. If you think the Hawks fan base was insufferable with 3 championships, make that 4 with the possibility of extending that and you might be on to something. Could you imagine the annoyance you could have heard from a Cubs and Hawks win in the same season?bluetunehead wrote: ↑04 May 2026 14:52 pmYeah I mean I live in Chicago. Not that my experience is the end all, having gone to school there, that fan base is tough. The bandwagon was real. And for good reason too. It was just crazy seeing all the people randomly watching hockey and them not realizing their core being so talented.
