Blaze Jordan seems like a fine acquisition by Bloom
The 23 year-old hit his 7th HR for Memphis today, He currently supports a .315 BA and and a .953 OPS. He might be a good option at 3B vs a LH starting pitcher later in the season. Or a DH vs LHP when Herrera is catching. Jordan might be more of a power threat than Urias, Fermin and Saggese. Urias is a fine late inning defensive replacement at 3B. Fermin is a nice utility player and Saggese is probably still up with the Cardinals as SS insurance.

Great job, you found Burleson a much needed platoon partner at first base.
.216/.256/.581 vs LHP this season .233/.280/.634 career. He could use some help.

Actually, I believe it was Bloom that traded Matz to the Red Sox for Blaze Jordan.vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑03 May 2026 16:57 pm *Credit unfortunately goes to Mo on that one, not Bloom

Burleson will not be platooned for unless for rest purposes. Bank it ! I'll admit, other teams seem to like to get LHP relievers in the game against Burleson. Sometimes, even with having to face the RH batter, Jordan, following. Go figure.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑03 May 2026 16:47 pm Great job, you found Burleson a much needed platoon partner at first base.

You can bet bloom had a hand in it and probably suggested it. Obrien was acquired because bloom had him with the rays and suggested mo pick him upvegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑03 May 2026 16:57 pm *Credit unfortunately goes to Mo on that one, not Bloom

Perhaps Blaze Jordan makes Burleson expendable?

TB, you are getting kind of goofy. But I know what you are up to.

Yeah, I'm teasing you. I hope Blaze gets a run in St Louis this summer. Maybe after the trade deadline. He could play 3B if Gorman in dealt, or while unlikely, it's not impossible that Burleson gets traded.

How is his defense at 3B??
I know he has played there but everything I have read about him profiles him for 1B?

He could be a good RHB, as DH or off bench with some pop
Many candidates can be on short notice
Fermin
Pozo
Urias

As Shady has aptly pointed out, it was a "fine acquisition". I liked the trade at the time and I like it better now.

Re: Blaze Jordan seems like a fine acquisition by Bloom
Jordan was definitely a "Bloom" trade as he was heavily credited for the late-night trade. Jordan has always been somewhat of a lottery ticket prospect who could go either way. He didn't do well in AAA last year. Then, he got a TON of ABs in ST, and stunk. However, he's showing his upside now. Let's see if he can keep it up before we rush to decisions. He's still a lottery ticket.
