Herrera's development timeline
Did the Cards take too long to recognize Herrera's hitting potential or did he just not show that potential early on?

Re: Herrera's development timeline
Yeah, but he only got a cup of coffee that year and then only another cup of coffee the next. In 2024 at age 24 he only got 260 ABs and had a 126 OPS+. Just asking because I don't remember him being touted as a big time hitter and in hindsight it seems he should've been getting regular ABs in 2023 and possibly in 2022.

Probably needed more development on defense.

Re: Herrera's development timeline
He didn’t do anything impressive in the minors until 2023. You’re just looking for something to complain about.

Hmm... Definitely wasn't meaning to complain and I know his early minor numbers weren't anything special. That's what I was asking. Did his offense come out of nowhere? Seems like it did because I don't remember his offensive capabilities being touted as top tier potential.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember reports of him needing more development behind the plate.
