Rank These 2B In Order

Post by Talkin' Baseball »

In my opinion, these are the best 6 2B in the National League. Tell me what order you think they go in as of today:

Hoerner- Cubs
Edwards- Marlins
Wetherholt- Cardinals
Marte- Diamondbacks
Turang- Brewers
Albies- Braves

Follow up question: Not some day in the future, but today, who is the better player- Wetherholt, or Donovan?

Tough list to sort.

1. Hoerner (Most balanced)
2. Wetherholt (best defender)
3. Albies (best hitter)
5. Edwards (most underrated?)
6. Marte (predict severe decline)

I believe Wetherholt is better defensively and equal offensively, though in different ways, to Donovan, right now.

Coincidentally, my wife and I argued this last night. I chose JJ and he chose Donovan, so obviously I’m right Lol!

Well today, Donovan is the much better player due to his veteran experience and versatility. And I think right now, he's the better glove man.

But You can't really compare him with a rookie, who apparently (and hopefully) improves month by month.

Turang, Hoerner, Wetherholt....they're all really close on the metrics.

Top 5 as we stand today:

Hoerner- Cubs
Turang - Brewers
Albies- Braves
Wetherholt- Cardinals
Edwards- Marlins (average fielder, 1 thru 4 are elite)

Not sure what's wrong w/K. Marte this year, normally he'd be Top 2.

No offense to Donny but I'd take JJW everyday over him right now.

Add Turang ahead of JJ and I’m with you, including JJ over Donovan

Donovan has 3 home runs 8 rbi and 7 runs and is frequently on the IL including now and isn’t good defensively in no universe is he better than JJ

Realizing I had him too low (4th) after recalling his clutch WBC performance, I deleted with the intent of moving him up to #2 and got distracted. We are in lock step!

I also apparently referred to my wife as “he”… I’ve got to pay better attention when posting lol.

Wetherholt is the infinitely better 2B than Donovan today.
Obviously.
Beyond any possible dispute.
After all, Donovan is on the IL today.

It’s a good thing bloom wasn’t dumb and kept Donovan hoping his value would go up by the dead line I alone knew he would go on the IL and said bloom should trade him in the offseason instead of waiting because his value would go down after being on the IL

I really like Lowe a lot. Has 8 home runs and 8 doubles along with ~900 OPS.

Stat cast has Lowe at 96th percentile batting and 93rd percentile with range. His overall hitting metrics are outstanding as well. He really should have been on that list.

But all things equal, I'll take Albies.

Wetherholt and it's not even close.

People saying Donnie is better than Wetherholt is a prime illustration of fans bias toward past stars.
