34,000 for the Dodgers on a Saturday
That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

Totally different circumstances and ownership has to realize one reason for that many is due to Dodgers.
However nice see some folks at game.

And, at the same time, a vast improvement over what we have been seeing.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

Yes you’ve proven beyond doubt that Mike Matheny was the main draw for attendance.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

As long as they don't have another epic mid-season collapse like last year, attendance will continue to climb. And considering there's no longer 3-4 dead-weight vets clogging up daily roster spots, I think their chances of not collapsing are marginally improved.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.
I said from the beginning, I think the team will either win 90+ or lose 100+. Could still go either way but looking further on the bright side each day.

Re: 34,000 for the Dodgers on a Saturday
WE were 5 games over .500 at the all star break and attendance was poor. About the same record as Matheny's last season when we averaged 42,000.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑03 May 2026 10:59 amAs long as they don't have another epic mid-season collapse like last year, attendance will continue to climb. I guess that could explain why he was such a bad manager.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 11:57 amHe had bleeding in the brain.alw80 wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:46 amWhere is the great Mike Matheny managing today?ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

34,000 is a major uptick from some recent games.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.
And what does Matheny have to do with anything right now?

Perspective. 34,000 for a Saturday game with nice weather and the Dodgers who are a big draw. Matheny's last season 42,000 per game and the team had a winning record but didn't make the playoffs.icon wrote: ↑03 May 2026 12:08 pm34,000 is a major uptick from some recent games.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

Trivia question. What Cardinals managers with at least 7 years of service never had a losing record?alw80 wrote: ↑03 May 2026 12:01 pmI guess that could explain why he was such a bad manager.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 11:57 amHe had bleeding in the brain.alw80 wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:46 amWhere is the great Mike Matheny managing today?ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.

I’m guessing a lot of that had to do with Shildt’s 20 win August.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 12:18 pmPerspective. 34,000 for a Saturday game with nice weather and the Dodgers who are a big draw. He loves Matheny for weird religious reasons. He's been clinging to the "but over .500 record" for years. It's quite bizarre and hilarious. He's been educated countless times on why Matheny wasn't a good manager.icon wrote: ↑03 May 2026 12:08 pm34,000 is a major uptick from some recent games.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑03 May 2026 07:34 am That's 8,000 fewer than the Cardinals averaged for 81 games in Matheny's last season.
