This is an incredible deal.
This guy is going to be a PPG player for us for the duration of the contract.
Holloway has 40 goal 100 pt potential playing with Thomas and Snuggurud.
I like Pavel Buchnevich and he has been great for us. But oh lord his contract is an albatross.
If he was going to produce at his peak for the next 5 years it would be fine. But that's not going to happen. We will be lucky if he puts up 20G 50P a year the next 3 years while being paid to be a 27G 70P guy for the next 5 years.
Between him and Kyrou that's 16 million yearly...90 million total the next 5 years.
We finally got rid of Schenns albatross contract and his was only 6 5 million.
I just do not understand the Pavel Buchnevich contact on any level.
He should have been offered 6 years for 40 million at the most or you trade him or let him walk.
In the NHL almost ZERO players put up 90-100% of their peak production between ages 31-36.
Anyways if we can trade Kyrous brain and attitude for Ryan O'REILLYs that would make it all good.
Otherwise by the end of next season we really need to have moved 1 of those guys if we have any plans on adding two more high end talents through trade or FA.
I suppose we don't really have any young players up for huge raises now. And the cap is sky rocketing so we are in a good spot to not blown 10 million a year on a FA that will end up being a prime Pavel Buchnevich. But at the same time we need to find two more elite or near elite difference makers and we have the cap space for it.
40G 100point potential?
Who’s your [fork]ing dealer?
You had 5 points in 61 games Joe Veleno ahead of Robert Thomas.. no one on this forum could have a worse take than that.. stop questioning anyone you just haven't earned it.
I’ve got just as much right to post here as anyone else.
I don’t need a permission slip from anyone. Get that straight.
Just because people have the right to say things doesn't mean they should..

Terrifying to think how much further away the Blues would be if those 2 offer sheets hadn’t have panned out. Edmonton’s loss is our gain!
We still don’t know what we have in either player.
lol. bitter old (child born out of wedlock) til the end

Does it not bother anyone that this organization is giving money to dirty mercenaries and neglecting the home grown talent on the roster, which by the way, is slowly dwindling.
The 2019 Luck Cup was primarily composed of home grown guys with a few guys from outside the organization.
It felt like “our team”
This doesn’t.
Have we ever had more Blues drafted players in the lineup than we do now? Weird take.

You lost it dude, seriously.
Dirty mercenaries? Good lord.
Yeah. That takes some luster off credibility of takes regarding other topics and players.
None of us are right all of the time.

I'm totally stoked for the Holloway deal. Him and Broberg both are turning out to be exactly what we all hoped for.
Am I the only one who finds Holloways deal weird?
Its at its smallest when he's in his prime. Just seems like the structure is strange. Anybody got an explanation?
Only thing I can think of is they want to pay him big now so they have room for all these kids contracts coming up later?
I believe your thinking is good. It also indicates to me that Holloway (and possibly even Broberg) have an even greater appreciation of the importance of a well-balanced team and of an organization that sees and believes in their ability and gives them a chance, and they don't want to just get close to the Ring but rather see a group and a coach and a plan that is heading toward it, while not wanting to be let go again because the team can no longer afford them.
Good signing, good value. I was hoping for 6-7 years but 5 is ok. Didn’t expect 6-7 given the not huge sample size so far.
Plenty of risk involved on both sides but in the end I expect this to be a good deal for the Blues as they just locked up his prime years at a solid price. Very happy we have Hollywood locked up for a while now.

9 of the 20 players who dressed for game 7 of the cup finals were acquired by trades or free agency. 10 if you count Perron.
Every time you post, you remove all doubt, as the saying goes.

Dood, You’re going to bust a blood vessel on your forehead if you keep vigorously trying to take ASOGG’s crown for the forum’s best tàrd takes.
If you’re gonna be so anti-everything, at least try to stay on the honest side of the spectrum. It tends to lead to more credibility.
DH’s extension is fine, but obviously risky with his injury history, but id rather it be 5 years instead of 7 to mitigate a little bit of the ridsk, and if he stays relatively healthy, win win.
