I think the Blues have a pretty good idea of what they have in both players. Based on their play the past 2 seasons, I think both contracts are very appropriate.
I can guarantee Edmonton wishes they had BOTH Players back. There's a decent chance they would still be playing if they had both players in their lineup.

It’s a very rough sport, and many others have missed time.

Just a quick look at a few Blue’s the last couple of years (Holloway’s time in STL), Thomas played 134 games and Holloway played in 136.

What did he have, a weird hip injury and high-ankle sprain? Maybe the hip is a strange injury but I’d say a high ankle sprain is pretty commonplace.

JMHO
You’re not off base at all. This should’ve been a two year $6 million bridge deal to see if he could stay healthy. Instead, they ate up $8 million in cap space for a 20 goal scorer
Quit trying so hard

So you think he has reached his ceiling at 24 years old? Thats a very poor analysis. smh

It’s called the cost of doing business.
You trust your scouts and talent evaluators and the Head coach that sees him everyday.
You ask them what they think and you make an educated decision.

I’m thrilled at the deal. Many were projecting 9 million or more.
His salary actually goes DOWN as the contract ages making him even more valuable.
Greta deal.
$9Million?!

For what?

Hard to reach your ceiling when you don’t play the full season

Does it not bother anyone that this organization is giving money to dirty mercenaries and neglecting the home grown talent on the roster, which by the way, is slowly dwindling.

The 2019 Luck Cup was primarily composed of home grown guys with a few guys from outside the organization.

It felt like “our team”

This doesn’t.

Do you even remember the last time you were happy?

Parayko
Thomas
Kyrou
Neighbours
Parayko
Dvorsky
Lindstein
Tucker
Kessel
Toropchenko
Stenberg
Hofer
Binnington
Snuggerud

20 players dress per game.. of the 20, 13 are drafted and developed with Tucker or Kessel being the 7th D

Add Sundquist Buchnevich and Walker who have all been Blues for over 5 years..

Not sure what a homegrown team is if this one isn't..

Addin Broberg Holloway and Finley have all played more games with the Blues than any other club

Which homegrown players aren't being taken care of?

Can we make him available in an upcoming expansion draft?

I'm totally stoked for the Holloway deal. Him and Broberg both are turning out to be exactly what we all hoped for.

Am I the only one who finds Holloways deal weird?
Its at its smallest when he's in his prime. Just seems like the structure is strange. Anybody got an explanation?

Only thing I can think of is they want to pay him big now so they have room for all these kids contracts coming up later?
