Holloway turns out the way we hope/think those NTCs aren't going to be needed!BleedingBleu wrote: ↑01 May 2026 15:36 pm Interesting Contract Structure Blues Sign Dylan Holloway To Five-Year Extension
Per PuckPedia, Holloway’s deal includes a 20-team no-trade clause in 2029-30 and a 15-team no-trade clause in 2030-31, the only two seasons of the deal in which he’s eligible for trade protection. The deal is paid entirely in base salary (no signing bonuses) and will earn him $10MM next season, $9MM in year two, $7.5MM in year three, $6.25MM in year four, and $6MM in its final season.

If he stays healthy we'll be wishing it was a longer deal.

Right amount of years. But about $3M too much.
The litany of bad decisions continues. Steen apparently isn’t much better than Army. I’m sure this came with a full NTC as well because why wouldn’t it?

Terrifying to think how much further away the Blues would be if those 2 offer sheets hadn’t have panned out. Edmonton’s loss is our gain!

You're really just not informed.. a player can't have a NTC until they are in their UFA years.. so only the last two years are allowed to have trade protection..Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑01 May 2026 15:48 pm Right amount of years. But about $3M too much.

Re: Holloway signed for 5 years
Maybe I’m off base, but these injury concerns projected by Army and others just seems crazy to me.
It’s a very rough sport, and many others have missed time.
Just a quick look at a few Blue’s the last couple of years (Holloway’s time in STL), Thomas played 134 games and Holloway played in 136.
What did he have, a weird hip injury and high-ankle sprain? Maybe the hip is a strange injury but I’d say a high ankle sprain is pretty commonplace.

lol, what does he expect? Like the guy would sign for that when no doubt someone would offer sheet him way more? Blues offer that much and he laughs and gets poed. Was guessing 6 at 7 mil so about right.sdaltons wrote: ↑01 May 2026 15:58 pm.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑01 May 2026 15:48 pm Right amount of years. But about $3M too much.

Nice to get Holloway locked up. Was a bit worried about this based on some of Army's post season comments.

You’re not off base at all. This should’ve been a two year $6 million bridge deal to see if he could stay healthy. Instead, they ate up $8 million in cap space for a 20 goal scorerjwstlsan wrote: ↑01 May 2026 16:04 pm Maybe I’m off base, but these injury concerns projected by Army and others just seems crazy to me.

You trust your scouts and talent evaluators and the Head coach that sees him everyday.
You ask them what they think and you make an educated decision.
I’m thrilled at the deal. Many were projecting 9 million or more.
His salary actually goes DOWN as the contract ages making him even more valuable.
Greta deal.
