What's the scoop on hiring new assistants?

Other than Julien and Weber being gone; nothing yet.
I wouldn't expect to hear anything on that front until well after the PO's end, and I'd be shocked if any kind of "inside info" got dropped on our interview list after the debacle at the Trade Deadline.
We probably won't hear a word until the actual signings are announced.

It's not even playoff ends. What we have learned its more like 1st or 2nd round is over. They just need to see who else is reshuffling the deck. the top teams wont be, at least for assistants.

Very possible names:
John Stevens, Todd Nelson, David Backes, Andrew Cogliano, Blake Comeau, Chris Kelly, Matt Irwin, Dallas Ferguson, Jason Spezza, Joe Pavelski

Many already have jobs. My guess would be Stevens for sure. Others would be difficult but would like to see Nelson and Backed or Pavelski

Todd Nelson makes sense as well as Joe Pavelski. If Monty is looking for someone with more experience, maybe Chris Kelly instead of Pavelski.

And if I am not mistaken, I thought the Blues had sent him to the minors during his final season and then brought him back at the end of the year to make sure he got in to two games to make sure he received a full pension (800 games) and also would guarantee him medical coverage for his special needs child.

Have no idea, but someone with a track record or the ability of running a strong defense would be beneficial.

I believe you're correct with that. I know the Blues did something "out of the way" to help him & his family. A really good gesture.

You know the Blues organization gets dogged on for some of the things they do, and some rightfully so, but little things like that go completely unnoticed and unappreciated by the regular folk.

Here's a guy who had only been with the organization for a few seasons, didn't play a whole lot, got sent down to the minors but due to a NHLPA agreement could not have gotten his medical coverage and pension because of 2 games, and the Blues management makes sure that happens. He has a son with autism (which is one of the main reasons he came here and has stayed here) and has never stopped working for the Blues. He spent every game of the 2019 cup run in the press box but celebrated every single win with the boys and got his ring as well. From all reports he's just one of those really good guys in life and I'm quite glad the Blues did right by him.

Blues have a young roster. Lots of talent.

The organization is well run. Stable ownership. Great alumni. You can debate their moves, but the Blues management has class and are pros. Excellent scouting staff. Legit player development.

City has top notch NHL fans and corporate support. High ratings.

Should be an excellent destination for the best coaching candidates in all of hockey. I'm excited to see who they bring in.

And if I remember, the team liked him so much, that he was handed the Cup right after Petro, Jbo, Steen and they all yelled Thorby and told him to take a lap, which he did. Maybe there was one other before him, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went down. Says a lot about how they felt and reinforces your post above.
