How much longer can Reds continue this unbelievable run ?

Post by ramfandan »

Cincinnati is true to its name REDS Hot ! When will they come back to earth ?
A few facts:
They are 18-10 Pretty unbelievable W-L record when you consider they are +1 in run differential . Tough to have that record scoring 118 runs while allowing 117 runs. WIth there + 1 differential, the expected Won-Lost record is 14-14 .500 ball.
They are 7-0 winning every 1-run differential game. They are 9-0 in both 1-run & 2run margins. Very rare anyone has started 9-0 in those categories.

At this current phenomenal pace , the Reds would win 104 games .
By far of all the teams in the NL Central , they have the lowest off. run production at 118 runs .. the other four teams have scored 149, 135,132, and even the Cardinals at 125. Note: If you think the Cardinal offense has looked shaky ,how would you like to be Reds fan watching the Reds offense scoring even less than St. Louis .. 7 runs less in fact.
In runs allowed , the Reds rank 3rd in the division (117 allowed ) .. the other four teams have 111 113, 118, and Cardinals with a whopping 140.

PS
With the Reds 18-10 with expected W-L record at 14-14 .. they are +4 better than expected . In case you were wondering , the Cardinals at 14-13 have a run differential of -15 and expected W-L record of 12-15 so the Cardinals are a + 2 in actual wins above where expected but far below the Reds +4 pace.

I wonder if this is finally Elly De La Cruz's breakout season. Currently a .274 ave/.907 ops with 9 hr and 6 sb.

Outside of him and Big Sal Stewart, they have nobody else above a 100 ops+. Oh wait, I see they have a Nathaniel Lowe who has been hot so far (151 ops+) in 17 games. See, in that ballpark all you need is a bunch of guys like that.

They'll get Nick Lodolo back soon for the rotation.

T. Francona

Should've been the Cardinals Manager after TLR retired, he practically begged for the job.

Nice job BDWJr/Mo :x

(And no more of the B S that he "wasn't in a good place", he's shot that lie down multi times)

BINGO

But also BDWJr who has the final say on everything, he enabled Mo for way too many years and supported stupid decisions like hiring M. Matheny over Francona. ::crazya::

Now let's not overlook JJ Bleday and his OPS of 5.000 and OPS+ of 1195 (2 ABs I homer, i RS and 1 RBI)

Then there's Hayes with his OPS+ of 6, you got to really work to do that.

Yeah Hayes has bought a lot of time based off of being a great defender.

They've played a pretty soft schedule so far this year.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda

Except:

They were determined to go Cheap and didn't see the value in paying for a TLR type or experienced manager.

They wanted A Puppet that would not push back or request a blessed thing, simply thrilled to be employed as a Cardinal Manager.

Shildt bucked that trend and we see where that got him. He obviously wasn't paying attention to the lay of the land.

I do agree that Francona would have been a great hire.

Girardi as well, though kids today are a bit too soft for his tutelage. Lol

Agree.
I was begging for BDWJr to hire him OR, Tito is a great Manager who's taken this Reds team and turned them into a playoff team almost overnight.

How I wish C. Bloom is allowed to hire someone of Francona's pedigree when Oli is gone after 2027 (fingers crossed).

Trade for K. Cash! :D
