Big Mac, Pujlos, George Hendrick - somebody has to help Walker
All the physical tools to be great. He needs one of those personal coaches like they assign a 7 foot prospect. Charlie Brown ain’t going to get it done if he hasn’t stopped Walker from swinging at that outside pitch a foot off the plate.

He was laying off those pitches early in the season and working his way into hitters counts now those pitches he was doing a good job of laying off of he’s now swinging at again

Wait…..if you pitch him outside and keep going outside he’ll start chasing???
I thought throwing every pitch mid>>>in belt high meat was the way to go about it…….

Well if he continued to lay off those outside pitches outside like he was earlier in the season it would continue to force them into counts where they had to come into the zone hes started swinging at everything outside again and now they have no reason to go into the zone it’s not hard to figure out even for you

He said earlier what he was doing was looking for his pitch and not swinging at anything else. He can’t hit those outside slider / sweepers so he might as well let them go and hope they get called balls. No sense in swinging anyway. Hard to do but until he forces the pitcher to change he might as well just not take the bat off his shoulder. At least that would get his eye trained again.

The fella who got him out this last AB pitched him perfectly. Outside corner for K….in on hands back outside and again and he rolls over to SS
These boners who were throwing him meat for a month created their own problems
As I’ve said some of the stupidest pitching I’d ever seen

I've seem people try and explain this to you numerous times on here but you don't seem to grasp it. Maybe give up posting about baseball and find a different sport that is simpler to understand. Something like marbles or tetherball, it would be easier for your simple minded brain to comprehend.Goldfan wrote: ↑24 Apr 2026 22:03 pm The fella who got him out this last AB pitched him perfectly. It’s boom or bust for this kid and it comes down to committing to one single adjustment that he’s already proven he can make. Lay off the down and away junk and force the pitcher into the zone or take the walks. If he’s too stupid or stubborn to accept this, he’ll wash out and shouldn’t get another chance after this season.brucesutterHOF wrote: ↑24 Apr 2026 21:12 pm All the physical tools to be great. He doesn’t need a wise sage to tell him what the entire world and he himself can plainly see.

He’s allowed to slump.
This is a good test

It’s his final exam and will make or break him. If he passes he’s a superstar. If he fails he’s out of MLB. I don’t think there’s any middle ground for him.
He’s already shown he can do it so I’m betting his break out is for real.

As I’ve said some of the stupidest pitching I’d ever seen
They had no choice but to throw him meat exactly in his hot zone
They were unable to throw strikes on the outside low corner
They couldn’t throw high and inside moving him off plate and then go back outside
He wouldn’t chase off the plate so that meant they couldn’t throw strikes on the OUTSIDE CORNER
For some reason most the pitchers earlier had no control and couldn’t help themselves from throwing mid>>>in >>>belt high or higher meat ball
Did I cover it all.
Amazingly the AB’s recently…..the pitchers were no longer throwing in the HOT ZONE….probably just coincidence

Big Mac was one of the best hitting coaches the Cardinals have had in recent years.
