Gates has to be looking to add a combo guard from the portal

Post by Shady »

One that has some outstanding three point shooting ability. Who are left that could really help? I see three, four star-rated combo guards unsigned.

Which of them do you see being better than Crowe?

That isn't the issue. They need one to compliment Crowe, taking some pressure off him and help bring the ball down court against pressure.

While not a combo guard, Isn’t Aidan Chronister supposed to be that 3pt guy?

Yes and he never gets mentioned much here. But that is what he is known for in high school, among a few other great qualities.

Yup, Reese is the only PG that is for sure on Gate's radar at the moment, but Gates likes to keep things quiet. The portal is still open, and there are still players entering it. So not quite time yet to get freaked out.

Is this coming Tues., April 21, the portal deadline?

That isn't the issue. They need one to compliment Crowe, taking some pressure off him and help bring the ball down court against pressure.
I'll take that as a NO.

As a HOF coach, how would you sell a former 4* to come to the SEC to play ten minutes a night behind a freshman ?

They could play simultaneously like Gates played Barrett and Robinson. Reece is an outstanding ballhandler.

That doesn't really answer the question either.

You should just admit that you totally forgot about Crowe when you started this thread.

I knew all about Crowe and what he brings. I just feel he'll need some help in the backcourt. Crowe and Reece could be a marvelous guard tandem to go along with the bigs and wings.

I see. You would sell a 4* by telling him to come and be a safety net in case the top 5 recruit needs some help adjusting to the college level.

Evidently, you don't see the big picture at all.

I would like to see someone like Reece added. Experience SEC guard. 3 guard offense of Jones, Crow and Reece, plenty of minutes for all. Then Rowe and Chronister being part of the backup players. Pierce can play wing some. Crow would benifit being able to play either position (PG or SG) to change it up during the course of a game and/or season. Hoping Chronister can shoot as adverstised, I've seen too many players come in billed as a hotshot shooter to only fall short.

What a cop out response from a self-proclaimed, HOF coach.

I'm not the one who forgot that Crowe signed with Mizzou.

Since you mentioned big picture, tell us the 4*'s who transferred to BYU, arkansas and kansas after Dybantsa, Acuff and Peterson signed with their respective schools ?
