Walker, Gorman, Burleson now have 42 RBI in just 19 games.
On pace to have the 3/4/5 hitters drive in over 300 runs this season.

On pace is kind of a joke after 19 games.

Offense flourishes when batters don't make outs.
Worth noting that Wetherholt has scored 10 runs.
Herrera just 3.
In fact, Herrera has scored a meager 3 runs the entire season despite hitting 2nd.
He is tied for dead last with Pages, among all STL hitters with 30 or more PA's.
In fact, Herrera leads the team in PA's - and is currently the worst at scoring runs.
Reality is, he is NOT helping the Walker, Gorman, and Burleson RBI total.
I've been watching IH closely, and I'm starting to worry about him. If he doesn't show life by 01may, he won't be DHing. We are desperate to get some offensive production out of our catchers.
There is a lot of noise around Torres. Put him in left at lead off, then JJ Burleson Walker and Herrera.
In MLB lineups, longer is better. Let’s get him up here. Subtract Fermin or Pozo.
Or Church.
I think Church is going to get his runway. Last 7 days have helped his cause. I really like the player if he can hit.

It's a very different offense, really. We've more than DOUBLED our average sacrafices this year. Say what you will about Oli (I'm not stumping for him myself), but he has fielded a team that is playing small ball this year. That is leading to more 1-run game victories, IMO.

If they were on pace for a combined 100 RBI after 19 games you would be very, very concerned.

Since we have doubled our sacrifices does that also mean we have doubled our RISP production.

As far as the hitting slash line, no.
However, we are manufacturing more runs with SAC bunts and SAC fly balls.

Since we have doubled our sacrifices does the potential for much more RISP if the hitting line improves.

I thought we were supposed to bench Gorman and teach him a lesson!🥸

Impressive.
It is possible that we are witnessing the emergence of a 3/4/5 middle of the order combination the likes of which the team has not had in the past 10 - 20 years.
Very good things are happening as a result of the organization abandoning its toxic practice of "playing the contract" and instead focusing on allowing talent to play.
Maybe 10 mel, but 20 years? :?

They'll never even come close to Pujols-Edmonds-Rolen

or

Pujols-Holliday-Berkman

Of course they will never come close to the MV3.
Which is why I said "last 10-20 years".
The MV3 era ended exactly 20 years ago.
And neither you nor I will ever see something like that again with the Cardinals.

But. Let’s change the narrative. Does it take an MV3 for us to again regain prominence in today’s market.

For sure! But, what I'm talking about is manufacturing runs when the hits are not abundant.
This team takes walks, lays down bunts & sacrafices (29 productive outs leads MLB), runners take extra bases on hits(37 times this year, 12 more than any other team in MLB), scores a runner from 2nd base 68% of the time (10% higher than league average), steals more than they did last year (about league average at 0.79 per game vs 0.55 per game last year).
It's just a different style of offense, lending itself to winning more of the close games. Although, we still get blown out quite a bit so far. We don't have the power to score 9 often (although great game last night).
