WIL-FM is a long time St. Louis station, studios in Creve Coeur. I think it may have begun as a Southern Illinois station. There are a few other exceptions.netboy65 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2026 10:42 am I’m watching it, it’s only two episodes so far but a couple nitpicky things bug me.
Even if it’s a fictitious station he’s on, StL is west of the Mississippi so it should at least start with a K instead of a W. Second he keeps calling it a cyclone, when we call them tornadoes.

KDKA, an original, in Pittsburgh, for the other end of the spectrum.

Re: DTF St. Louis
I have watched all three (3 right?) episodes and I feel that they are really trying to throw us off what really went down. In the latest episode, seeing that now all 3 of them were riding that weird bike, opens up the door that it could have been either of them (Cardellini or Bateman) who were there OR someone just took one of their bikes?
I will say it again, I don't know why I get the True Detective feel with this show, but I think it is the weirdness of it, and Jason Batemen's acting, which is just...odd? I am not saying I don't like it, I really enjoy him in about everything he does, but he is really hard to read in this show. The robot stuff was funny, and him wanting to be dominated. BUT - who was playing who? Anyways, still watching and now I feel pot committed to it.

MO has pretty decent tax credits these days. I bet our insane weather is a bigger factor.Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026 14:35 pm Missouri doesn't offer the same tax credits Georgia does. That's why Ozark was shot in Georgia.

I thought they got rid of those a few years ago. Georgia gives out a lot of tax credits and has a nascent film industry growing. There are lot of shows being shot in Georgia. As to weather, Georgia has just as insane weather as we do.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 08:30 amMO has pretty decent tax credits these days. I agree that GA has better moviemaking infrastructure, so that's certainly a factor. Hopefully, St. Louis can catch up a little bit.
Hard disagree about the weather. If Atlanta gets half an inch of snow, the city shuts down.

Of course, we could just Google it...

Looks like it's about both infrastructure and taxes. Doesn't mention weather, but they're clearly thinking it.
I love the bit where the showrunner says he thinks St. Louisans will appreciate the authentic details included to make it feel like St. Louis.
Sure. Like the radio station that starts with a W. And the list of municipalities that are nowhere near each other.

Georgia has no cap, Missouri’s is 16 million.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2026 08:30 amMO has pretty decent tax credits these days. Plus, Georgia has so much more infrastructure than we do in terms of production studios already set up there.
Beyond that, I read somewhere that Jason Bateman’s preferred location is Georgia and that’s where he wants to shoot.

This show is all about adding crazy twists every episode now. It is very much a sloooooooooow build to what actually happened in that pool house. Richard Jenkins is so good to watch, he's such a great actor but he will always be Nathaniel Fisher (Six Feet Under) to me.

Watched the finale have to say it was a little predictable.

I thought the same thing, although when he finally finished his story on how his p*nis got that way, that was pretty funny. Very matter of fact.Watched the finale have to say it was a little predictable.
Did I like the show? I honestly don't know how to answer that. I liked the acting, the pace was slow but yet I think everyone did a good job. The weirdness level was a 9.5. BUT - kind of a show that you just forget about, nothing really stood out, no big twists.
At the end of the day, it's a love story between 3 people, I guess?
