Wow. Look at the starting pitchers we face
Good morning.
Check this out. Houston has no stud. Their leading ERA starter has a 6.85 era. Seriously. BUT…..
After that, the next 16 games we face the following-
Miami- Sandy -Meyer
Seattle- Woo-Hitchcock-Gilbert-Castillo
Pitt- Skenes-Keller-Chandler
lAD - Ohtani- Yama- Glasgow-Sheehan
brewers- Miz-Patrick-Woodruff.
A possible 16 games against league level Aces. This will tell us exactly where the offense is.

Those pitchers are good against everybody Dog. I think we know where our offense is. Unless 5-9 have a day we won't win much.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 05:08 am Good morning.

You’re right. They are good. Aces in some respects. I just found it amazing, and tough, that we get them in a row, night after night. That’s a lot of games if we hit on these starters.2ninr wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 05:21 amThose pitchers are good against everybody Dog. I think we know where our offense is. What could go wrong is we face them all one after another. That’s a lot of punches to the body.
I think we miss Sandy in Miami. So the first six games of this stretch is crucial to this block of games.

I see this as a very serious stretch of games. 19 games is about 12 percent of the season, putting us at 23 percent into 2026.2ninr wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 05:21 amThose pitchers are good against everybody Dog. We are currently 1 game behind division. Look at those arms again. That could be 6-7 QS innings per night, for three weeks. Finishing this block of 19 five or six under would greatly stall the competitive nature of the rebuild/

It will let us know where we are at. But competitive rebuild is kind of an oxymoron. I don't think it stalls anything if we lose a lot of those games. It's a tell. If we aren't competitive in those games, than we adjust accordingly. That's what the rebuild is for. We can lose the games and still be competitive. If not, we need to know that. We aren't built to win. So don't count their progress by wins and losses.

They should miss Alcantara… starting v. Milwaukee on the 18th, and wouldn’t be on track until the 24th v. SF.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 05:08 am Good morning.

Yes. I did the count. We will miss Sandy in Miami. Now we need to really capitalize on Houston, 2-8 last 10, and a Sandyless Miami. Then the next 13 could be Strong.Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 07:34 amThey should miss Alcantara… starting v. Milwaukee on the 18th, and wouldn’t be on track until the 24th v. I’m aware. Still a daunting challenge. Facing consecutive studs for 13 games will wear on us.Cranny wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 07:56 amThere’s an old expression, SB - “The bigger they are, the harder they fall”.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 05:08 am Good morning.

Wait and see the complaints about a meager offense. Won’t be that. Will be the pitching/

Re: Wow. Look at the starting pitchers we face
Yea, I looked at each teams stats, choosing the pitchers with 3-4 starts. I also read the team pages. Tried to avoid an injured stud.Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 07:57 amHunter Brown is kind of a stud btw, but injuredsikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026 07:37 amYes. I did the count. Don’t you think those teams are looking at our rotation and saying “I hope we can win 2 of 3?”
I don’t know how to do blue font.

Probably not, but they shouldn't overlook us either. The Cardinals have won 2 of 3 of most of the series' they've played so far. They also just took 2 of 3 from a first place team.
