The whining about Oli

Critiquing the Manager is a time honored part of MLB going back decades.

I'm not an Oli fan, nor will I curtail my opinions when he screws up.

I'm a big fan of the original poster CO, one of the smartest baseball posters in here.

But I can't go along w/this one.

To me it's not "whining", all Managers are fair game for second guessing and they understand this.

2nd guessing the manager/coaches is a long standing tradition.
Maybe it's a better tradition than drinking and smoking, as Hank Williams Jr. sung about.
Wait, how bout all 3 at the same time, while sitting around with your buddies? Maybe add some apple pie, Idk.

Brings in Soriano, walks 1st batter, but then lights out! Takes him out after 1inning.
Brings in JoJo he also walks his 1st batter, but gets a DP and sets them down 1,2,3.
Faces 1 batter in the next inning, and with at least 4 lefty hitters coming up next, he brings in Stanek!
And you don’t blame Oli?

Gee, its almost like they have another game tomorrow. Maybe oli wants to use those guys again! But lets go with your logic and pitch JoJo 40+ tonight so he's unavailable until Saturday.

So throw away today’s game because you might need to use Jo Jo tomorrow lol

Did they win last night? Yep. Can JoJo possibly pitch today? Yep. Get your panties out of a wad, pee wee.

My "blame hierarchy:" First is the GM/owner combo who selects the players on the field. Second, it's the players. Third, the manager. These tend to get reversed on CT.

I guess it all depends. Did the 2/3 consist of 9 pitches? Or 19? If it were an additional 19+ pitches, he wouldn't have gone today.
The unfortunate bottom line is that they cant use the same 2 guys every game. If Stanek and Bruil continue to struggle, they should, and need to be replaced.

So what's the use of talking. Can't be unbiased hence not fair to the followers.

Like most, some moves work out, some don't. I believe he has as much say so in who plays when and where as the next manager..which is little nowadays.

An extra 2/3 could've racked up 20 more pitches depending on long counts or a guy or two reaching base. So yes, it could've pushed him out of action today. Its April. You dont wear out one of your best relievers early. You know this. But you are too facetious to admit it. Or you are just foolish.

BTW, you conveniently did respond to my question asking if we won the game last night. Guess oli is smarter than you.

Classic, I think you way underestimate the Manager role
Who sat and watched Helsley blowup against PHils knowing he was injured?
Who can’t set the rotation properly for a 1st place series last season against Cubbies seeing Fedde and Miles throwing twice to Gray’s one
Who bats Winn cleanup?
Who sits a hot bat because of a scheduled off day
This list can go on and on…….
