Best at being the worst, great contribution to the thread

So far not one legitimate, fact-based response on why the heck the constant Oli criticism is worth the max-attention, much less warranted.

Generalized complaints like “he can’t manage” or “he’s ruined the pitching staff” is all I see.

Again, how many games do people think a manager wins or loses, because it seems like an exercise in futility to act like he’s the one who can’t pitch or hit?

A manager’s job is to set players up to best succeed. To keep them motivated and adhere to team rules and procedures.
Red was a Manager who just let his players play. He also didn’t have to make very many pitching decisions because starting pitchers usually went deep into games. So, did Red effect the outcome of many games, no, probably not.
Oli, on the other hand, his starters aren’t going deep, either because they are getting lit up, have high pitch counts, or have went their 5 innings. Then he proceeds to march out there reliever after reliever, game after game. No pitcher could be sharp everyday of every inning he asks them to throw. It’s going to be somebody’s off day and they are going to pitch poorly.
Oli doesn’t allow his base stealers to have a green light. He dictates when they are allowed to try. The Cardinals are currently at or very near the bottom of stolen bases in MLB. That, but the Cardinals minor league teams run constantly.
Oli doesn’t fill out the batting order or lineup that best suits the players best attributes or the teams most urgent needs. He sits guys who are hot, keeps playing guys who are ice cold, plays his favorites over guys that are better players (Pages), let’s veteran players dictate whether they’ll take a day off or not ( Arenado)
I could keep giving examples, but I’m tired of typing and you know Oli is a bad Manager anyway!

Multiple chances to run in a tie game and the Cardinals do not attempt to. Pozo hits into a DP with Winn on base, and Scott a lead off hit, and forced at 2B by JJ on the first pitch to him. Tell me that’s not on Oli?

First, your assertion about Oli controlling steals isn’t correct. Do you have a link because Oli has said that he wants them running and, other than to not give slow runners the green light, gives most discretion.

Second, what wound you have him down it this pitching staff? The relievers have sucked. So yeah, when his starters don’t pitch well, he’s been forced to bring in the 6-7 bullpen arms who have sucked eggs.

The rest of your ramble is just made up.

Oli has no philosophy. Just lets it happen. Poor manager.

Why did he take McGreevy after 5 innings at 87 pitches? He was doing well.
Soriano pitched great, 1 inning and out!
JoJo now out, the merry-go-round continues.
Scott lead off hit, didn’t try to steal, forced out, JJ’s speed kept it from being another DP.
Walker sent on a 3-2 count to Winn.
So, just what did I make up?

Joe Torre was a horrible manager in StLouis. Than he was a great manager with the Yankees. Tells you everything you need to know.

Takes JoJo out with three lefty hitters coming up. Three straight hits and a run, still only one out!
