31 RBI in 14 games
Walker, Gorman, and Burleson have combined for 31 RBI in just 14 games.
Impressive.
It is possible that we are witnessing the emergence of a 3/4/5 middle of the order combination the likes of which the team has not had in the past 10 - 20 years.
Very good things are happening as a result of the organization abandoning its toxic practice of "playing the contract" and instead focusing on allowing talent to play.

Wetherholt 359 OBA and Herrera 369 OBA batting first and second helps a lot.
Offense flourishes when batters don't make outs.

Or RBIs add up when runners are on base.

I've been saying this since the fall of '23.Melville wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 08:41 am Walker, Gorman, and Burleson have combined for 31 RBI in just 14 games.

Pujols,Rolen, Holliday, Beltran and the likes may disagree with you. Now move that back to 10 yrs. Or even 5 yrs. Funny.

Actually, those are the groups to whom I was referring.kscardsfan wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 09:21 am Pujols,Rolen, Holliday, Beltran and the likes may disagree with you. Now move that back to 10 yrs. Or even 5 yrs. Funny.
It has been more than 10 years since STL has had a highly productive 3-person middle order presence.
2012-2013 was the last time.
It is way early, but Walker, Burleson, Gorman are currently showing the ability to match that group.
And possibly even surpass them - which would require a look back to Pujols/Edmonds/Rolen era to find higher middle order production.
Let's see what happens.

past 20 years lol...someone showing their age. Perhaps recent 5 year stretch...though even then Goldy and Arenado were two of the best just a handful of years ago.

N/A and PG never had the 3rd middle order piece.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 10:08 am past 20 years lol...someone showing their age. Perhaps recent 5 year stretch...though even then Goldy and Arenado were two of the best just a handful of years ago.
You have to go back to the 2012 and 2013 seasons to find a high quality 3/4/5 group.

Gormy has an ops of .693 which is even less than his pathetic career .719 - worse than NOOT you dip stick!Melville wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 08:41 am Walker, Gorman, and Burleson have combined for 31 RBI in just 14 games.

Re: 31 RBI in 14 games
Worth noting that Wetherholt has scored 10 runs.
Herrera just 3.
In fact, Herrera has scored a meager 3 runs the entire season despite hitting 2nd.
He is tied for dead last with Pages, among all STL hitters with 30 or more PA's.
In fact, Herrera leads the team in PA's - and is currently the worst at scoring runs.
Reality is, he is NOT helping the Walker, Gorman, and Burleson RBI total.

Re: 31 RBI in 14 games
They aren’t going to surpass that group. Maybe a productive 2 4 6 or 3 5 6 but we still need another massive bat to lengthen the lineup. Imagine if we had a Matt holiday or Marcell Ozuna in their primes playing left field instead of church. Where would they bat in the order?Melville wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 09:37 amActually, those are the groups to whom I was referring.kscardsfan wrote: ↑12 Apr 2026 09:21 am Pujols,Rolen, Holliday, Beltran and the likes may disagree with you.
