Stock down....my opinion
Liam Peterson, UF, RHP https://www.fangraphs.com/players/liam- ... s/pitching
Derek Curiel, LSU, CF (L) https://www.fangraphs.com/players/derek ... ts/batting
Drew Burress, GT, OF, (R) https://www.fangraphs.com/players/drew- ... ts/batting
Justin Lebron, Bama, SS (R) https://www.fangraphs.com/players/justi ... ts/batting
-------------
Their games aren't where you're used to seeing (Curiel, Burress), or haven't improved like you wante them to (Lebron, Peterson)
Peterson too many walks, too wild on command....but some of the best 3 pitch mix with Fastball, Slider, Curve you'll ever see. Not consistent on the delivery/command late in his outings...walks balloon, and with better competition he'll get worse, unless he gets the command under control
Curiel, dropping in every recent mock, coming off as a 1 tool player in the 1st half of the season. He's a hitter, but he doesn't do anything else rather well. I'm sure that's not exactly what he'll be, but he's not the player we saw in the postseason Regionals/SuperRegionals and CWS last year...hard pass from me.
Burress....his collegiate body of work is legendary...he's just not feeling it this year. Hitting pretty poorly by his standards. I don't see him making it in the Top 5, and the Top 10 may be in jeopardy. I think he's still a Top 10 draft pick...the body of work says so. Right now his stock is falling, and a concern.
Lebron...his knock was his poor SEC play last year. 5 tool juggernaut...but only 4 of those tools are online and functioning properly....the hit tool is a major concern....but the Trea Turner comp makes teams salivate, he's dropping ...or teams are noticing....I think he's dropping a little...for now. I have Chowlowsky, Emerson, Flora, Lackey ahead of him.

yeah, I know. I'm leery of 1B types early on in the draft, but both Bailey and Cuvet do wet the pallet when it comes to power and average. Bailey chases more and lives with the high K's, I think his average will be much lower as a pro, but you're looking at a Kyle Schwarber type with him....K's a lot, but gets on base alot with walks. Cuvet, though, he's more selective, he could turn into the steal of this draft, walks much more than K's.
Having the 32nd, 50th, 68th, 72nd picks, we could land either. Hopefully, Cuvet lasts until the 32nd pick.
very good mention, cardzilla!!
