Church was really good this Spring. Right now, he’s trying to be patient, but pitchers are coming right after him, and he’s getting into bad pitch counts. He isn’t this bad, he’ll get better.

And if so who/whom.
Thankfully, my employer doesn’t grade me on one week of work. Extrapolation of one week of data to an entire season is extremely risky.

News flash...

Your employer can lay you off anytime, anyplace.

Fair point.
But I think they will give him part of the rotation until Mootbaar returns from intensive care.
If he has not shown success at that point, Church will be dismissed.

Agree with giving him less playing time. I have said before... they should go to Church on Sundays !

I don’t like that he’s taking at bats from Saggese and even Fermín. Saggese was a league MVP and Fermín should be used more as a utility guy.
Saggesse having trouble falling over when he swings.

Nothing against Church, but I think Fermin should get a start in LF. He is a better contact bat than Church or Saggese.

In a year where you are going to let the young guys play you don’t give up on Church after 6 games

Who in the heck taught him how to bunt? You catch the ball with the bat. You don't jab at it. The majority of the time a hitter jabs at the ball in a bunt situation, they pop the ball up.

Correct.
They need to wait until critical mass.

It is peculiar that Fermin does not have a single PA.
