THX CK

Oli's going to stick w/Winn at clean-up (0 RBI's---.111 .111 .222 .333) no matter how clueless it makes him look, the definition of insanity. ::crazya::

My adoptive home team Rays are typically slow on their graphic so their lineup is here. Old friend Palacios is playing second and batting eighth.

Ok... let’s see if I can do a certain CT Legend justice:
Yesterday I ALONE was the FIRST to CORRECTLY point out that Saggese and Urias should be playing today with a LHP on the mound.
I also BRILLIANTLY said that Gorman & Church would sit!!!
But IT IS NEVER ABOUT ME....It is ALWAYS ABOUT THE GAME.
And it makes me SAD when posters DESPERATELY try to make it different! 😢

OBVIOUS
CORRECT

Did I miss any??

Rock I don't think it's that he wants Winn at cleanup. It's that he wants the top of the order stacked the way it is-than who is left to hit cleanup? Walker? Gorman?

I agree Winn isn’t an ideal cleanup guy. You could swap him and Herrera but they are trying to stack the best bats at the top so they get the most AB’s. I will also say it is a little early to support an argument with just 2 games of stats.

What’s the fascination here????? Is there some obscure analytics dictating WINN is a cleanup hitter the first 3 games against TB??? ::crazya:: ::crazya::

Oli has many flaws but one of his biggest is he see's himself as more of a "buddy" than he does a Manager.

When he informed Winn that JJW would be the lead-off man in the regular season I wonder if this is his way of appeasing Winn so they can stay pals?

Spot on, flipping Winn (who has hit well in his career batting 2nd: .268 .324 .412 .736) and Herrera is the right move.

I have to be honest foster, even one game of M. Winn hitting cleanup is more than enough to support the fact that it's an idiotic lineup move.

I've been very clear for years I vehemently disagree w/hitting your best power hitter in the #2 hole (remember all my threads slamming Goldy batting 2nd?).

It's a waste of your best power bat which I. Herrera is (likely) on this team just to get them a handful more PA's than they'd get hitting 3rd or even cleanup.

The simple move, if you still want to "stack" the top of the lineup is to flip Herrera and Winn (.324 career OB% hitting 2nd, not great but better than his c r a pp y .167 .250 .222 .472 line when hitting clean-up).
