Challenged 8 times today, six successfully. Crowd in Cincinnati cheered more for the overturn calls than they did for 2 home runs. This is going to be fun to watch when CJ is behind the plate in St Louis.

Cincinnati ended up winning that game in extras. Do you know how that particular AB went?

You know the past history with Oli & CB Buckner. Just wait til Buckner is behind the plate with Cardinal game. If Cardinals get an overturn a few times,Oli will be smirking from the dugout with Buckner catching him smiling and give Oli the heave ho and all hell will break loose from Oli why he was tossed .. Buckner will say 'Mocking the umpire calls .. You're outta here !

On the seventh pitch of the at-bat, Suárez hit a grounder to second baseman Marcelo Mayer to get Watson out of the jam.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026 20:50 pmopti mist wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026 20:47 pm Sorry, CB, not CJ.

Re: CJ Buckner
On a day that Bucknor, a member of a major-league umpiring crew since 1999, had eight calls challenged and a whopping six overturned, a sequence with Watson on the mound in the sixth inning was arguably the most egregious.
“He has one job to do, it’s (to) call balls and strikes,” said manager Alex Cora, who was ejected in the eighth. “It wasn’t his best day. That’s what the system does. It’s out there, everybody sees it, and he’ll be the first one to accept it. I saw him putting his head down after one of the challenges. And we’re all human. It’s not easy, what we do and what he does.”

You are correct. However, we are now criticizing you too. Knowing Buckners name does not take much research.

CB Bucknor. If you look in the dictionary for the definition of incompetent his picture is next to that word.

Re: CJ Buckner
Bucknor and oli should just meet behind home plate and have a wrestling match before a game. Get it out of their systems. Maybe the Cardinals can make it a promotional night. It might increase ticket sales.ramfandan wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026 20:54 pm You know the past history with Oli & CB Buckner. Just wait til Buckner is behind the plate with Cardinal game. The guy has made a great living for being terrible at his job. Not a bad gig if you can get it. CB is the weatherman of umps.

Since I immediately posted "Sorry, CB, not CJ." under the OP (you cannot edit a title), I am curious as to why you felt compelled to make your post? Humor the board by explaining your reasoning.

Re: CJ Buckner
Can you imagine if Angel Hernandez was still umpiring? I could see him tossing players for calling for a challenge.
