And maybe staying down helped him succeed now but you would never say that because you need to complain. If Baez comes up at the end of the season and hits well or makes the team out of spring next season and hits well you will be saying he should have skipped AAA he would have been doing we are seeing instead of acknowledging maybe AAA helped him. But with you your opinion is whatever allows you to whine and complain
No I’m just defending my point I made last season when I wrote he was ready. Got all the morons claiming “needs his time at AAA”. If you actually think his 200 abs at AAA made him the hitter he is…..Y’all are low IQ
You’re an idiot that thinks that prospect should just be skipped levels and when they do and struggle you’re the idiot that then says oh those precious yutes are overrated they suck and blah blah you’re a moron and will reverse horn opinion at the drop of the hat. By the way how did gray who you reversed your opinion on immediately after he was traded do today? He went from you saying he sucks was a waste of money to he’s great and the contract was fair as soon as he was traded lol and how is Contreras doing compared to the cardinals first baseman you’re the idiot who reversed opinions on him also as soon as he was traded lol

You wanted him up last year? That would’ve been dumb
Why
Before the Sept call ups: dumb. No reason to start his clock.

In Sept: no point.

You never know which guys need what type of seasoning in the minors prior to playing in the majors.
Back in 1973 , a 17- year old played one season ( only 64 games )for the Newark Co-Pilots in the New York -Penn League rookie ball where he was one of the youngest players in the league.
He had been drafted 3rd overall in the 1973 draft .

After that short rookie season , he then went to spring training in 1974 and made 'the show '. Named starting SS at age 18 for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Played 20 seasons and was inducted in the Hall of Fame.

Exactly, if you know what you’re looking true talent is usually obvious…..and that’s JJ

I don’t care about Clocks or service time or imagined necessity of the A’s. If the player has the talent and is ready he should be with the MLB team producing and winning. Period.
If you or anyone else here can’t see the difference in the hitter JJ is opposed to Gorman/Walker types you should just keep listening to Oli and his brilliance. ::crazya:: ::crazya::

ramfandan wrote: 28 Mar 2026 18:10 pm All of us know that the leadoff man gets the most at bats over the course of a season more than any other spot.

Today Wetherholt was the ONLY Cardinal player to get 5 plate appearances with his at bat in the 10th.

From the leadoff, he got on 1st , stole 2nd , and scored from 3rd in the 1st inning. Then got the 2 RBI runs to walk off the game winner.
While there is discussions on clean up 4th spot, Oli has JJ slotted for maximum plate appearances for the season at leadoff.
Keep him at No. 1.
I agree. But I also have a feeling oli benches him tomorrow. You know, some [nonsense] of letting him have a day to think about how good he's playing.
You would like that so you could complain again tomorrow
No, oli, I would not like that.

lol let’s be clear you’re the “great talent evaluator” who as soon as the cardinals signed Sonny gray and Contreras said they sucked and the cardinals were stupid for signing him And they weren’t worth their contracts posted their entire time here about how they sucked and weren’t worth their contracts the entire time they were here complained and whined then as soon as they were traded the “great talent evaluator” did a .180 on his great evaluation of
Their talent and said they were good and totally worth their contracts and the stupid cardinals didn’t get enough for those great talents lol let’s be clear your talent evaluation is actually whatever allows you to whine and cry the most youre an idiot a real clown

It changes the convo. The first two games are in contradiction to everything Goldfan has said the entire offseason.

So he is now talking about this…

Talking about JJ….not some talentless Yutes
And again you think JJ wouldnt be doing what hes doing because 200 AAA AB’s??
Who knows you certainly don’t you’re just Monday morning quarterback crying which you excel at you are fantastic at whining after the fact. If they had called JJ up last season and he struggled you would be whining oh another overhyped yute lol it’s all you do figure out ways to whine and complain. Cards are 2-0 JJ doing well and can you be happy for once? Nope you have to Whine and complain about how he wasn’t called up
Last season hilarious
I don’t care about Clocks or service time or imagined necessity of the A’s. If the player has the talent and is ready he should be with the MLB team producing and winning. Period.
If you or anyone else here can’t see the difference in the hitter JJ is opposed to Gorman/Walker types you should just keep listening to Oli and his brilliance. ::crazya:: ::crazya::
Another instance where you are wrong.

It changes the convo. The first two games are in contradiction to everything Goldfan has said the entire offseason.

So he is now talking about this…
Yea last season he has to go to to be able to cry and whine lol but as soon as they lose he will have a new reason to cry and whine but for now he can’t be happy with cards winning let’s cry about last season it’s pretty pathetic. And he acts like he’s a true judge of talent by talking highly on JJ way to go out on a limb and taking a risk saying the number 5 prospect in baseball who scouts and executives rave about who They say could have been first in the draft if not for hamstring injuries is going to be good wow super impressive judge of talent

JJ batted LO opening day. They’re obviously not burying him. But Gold gets to argue they should’ve brought him up when the team was selling and the vibe was Arenado-esque. No to mention you rob a year of service time, and maybe he ending the 2025 season on not a high note.

Nah, Gold sees the talent and energy of this team. He’s just trying to save face.

And you know that how, Nostradamus? There is nothing better than a know-it-all-who-knows-nothing-Monday-morning-quarterback like you.
