I would bet my house the Cards won't lose tomorrow. I am that confident.

That’s the thing, right?

It’s one thing if they stayed quiet today or voiced further skepticism, but some are all like “ wow, great game! Exciting!”

But yeah, stinker or two by the team, they’ll be back.

The Cardinals may not win all of the games but it is guaranteed that they will not lose them all either - the popular inference on this site. They did not give up when things were seemingly insurmountable. If there is one trait that they develop and maintain during this season, my hope is that they never give up.

Yep like in 23 when we started off with 2 of 3 against the Jays. Turned out great!

They definitely aren’t going to lose 90-100 games like some were predicting

You all know it is just one game. Right? Normally when you give up 7 runs you lose. Fortunately they came back in a big way. I'm upbeat about Church. He did a nice piece of hitting. Walker's drive to center should have been caught but those things happen. JJ crushed it today. Good looking talent there. The Cards relief was shaky at best. How often do you walk 3 in the 9th and not give up a run? A little disappointed in Libertore. I was hoping for a more dominant outing but it was opening day. Just hope the big games don't become a problem for him. Funny the Cards were actually outhit I think, but they hit the bombs. Anyway, when/if the run off about 7 or 8 losses in a row will you all be crowing? Not likely. One last thought, Scott II showed what he's capable of and why he was rated so highly. I hope he keeps it up, he could be a game changer for this offense. A good day for the Cards though and nothing makes me happier.

The relief pitching was shaky today. Hopefully it improves as guys settle into roles. I think it should.

The offense stuck with it after falling behind big. That was great to see.

I think the defense should be solid.

Now will this lead them to a NLC championship? Maybe, maybe not. Hopefully it propells them to some momentum.

For everyone who says im only negative, there is some positive for you. I point out the good and bad that I see.

My favorite was right after the game, Chip commented that they had gotten excellent pitching from the bullpen. Did he think we weren't watching the parade of relievers (bleep) the bed in the 6th?

I will say this though. It was opening day in St Louis and I'm sure a lot of those pitchers had a severe case of the butterflies in the belly. We'll see how they progress once the games get more mundane.

Yeah I mean honestly only O’Brian earned his paycheck today in the pen. Even Stanek made everyone’s butthole pucker in the 9th. Maybe just opening day jitters but I feel like the pen will be an issue going forward.

The lineup bailed them out today so they need to lock in and return the favor Saturday

Yes, O'Brien wasn't the pitcher of record, but the Official Scorer granted him the victory today as the most effective reliever. Well earned.
