79-83, with a strong finish to get to that point. We’ll all feel better about where they are by the end of the year.

80-82. The pitching is good enough to not be terrible. The offense will be an issue unless Walker, Winn, and Scott live up to the hype at least a little bit. I actually think Gorman may have figured something out. I see a lot of frustrating 4-2 losses in the future.

Fanduel sez 69.5 wins but they also will pay +440 for 80 wins and +2200 for 90 so there's a good spot for the optimists to get rich(er).

That's not me though. I think the team will have trouble scoring, the starting pitching is spotty and will wear down, and the pen is a collection of guys. Throw in the very good chance the FO will move any over-performers at the break and I'm definitely in the pessimists camp.

I'll say they win 73 games and that will be good enough to ace out the Reds for 4th in the NLC.

71-91

Despite that, I think they'll be somewhat entertaining to watch.

With the Nelson Velazquez decision...I would like to change my prediction...the team obviously doesn't care to win and that will have a bleed down effect to the players...72 wins.

I'm sticking with my pre spring training prediction. 45-117. The bottom falls completely out with injuries and sub par performance.

2014 cubs were 41-40 first half, then sold. Ended up 73-89.

I DO NOT think the cards will end this bad, even if they sell. If they trade May, for example, dobbins/Fitts can fill it.

My prediction: 83-85 wins

The worst record in the modern history of the franchise? Seems a bit of a stretch.

...80-82. Can Bloom make this team bloom..?? If so, they possibly could be plus-.500 at season's end... I'm an optimist and say close, but no cigar... Should be an interesting season though, with some surprises along the way...

73-89

This team is unlikely to score enough runs to win many games. I feel like 73 wins is optimistic; it will require the bullpen to be good again. Playing intelligent baseball again would help but I'm skeptical we will return to that.

Hopefully the pitching continues to develop and once we finally give up on Walker, Gorman, Scott and let some other guys have a chance maybe the hitting will begin to improve. Also, the LF platoon of Church, Fermin, Saggese is not likely to produce corner outfield offense. Velazquez and Baez in the 2nd half might help.

May, Romero, Stanek, Urias, Nootbar will likely be traded at the deadine if they play well enough to have any value. Walker and Gorman may finally be out of rope by then, too. Hopefully, some kids grow up and are ready to take their places.
