OT:Adam hit 930

Post by Dazepster »

Our first Father. Lived to the ripe old age of 930.
He gave of himself, a rib in fact, to create a partner for himself. This partner was named Eve. She was called woman. Woman remains to this day an undefinable term for some. Some believe it is simply a shortened version for Woe Is Man.

This Woe Is Man introduced the Concept of Sin into the world by dilly dallying with a snake. Net Net, she (bleep) us up big time. We haven't recovered since and most men haven't learned a blessed thing from this Specifically Chosen Origin Tale. They could have written about Anything. But they didn't. Wake Up Henpecked Beta Bois. That was a Cautionary Tale. The First and Foremost of em all.

Comedy aside. Why this Story, This Day???

Beth, an old Biblical name if there ever was one, reminds me of a lass I met in Bethlehem many a moon ago. She was named Beth. Told me Beth was hebrew(?) and meant house and wasn't cause she was born in Bethlehem.

I digress.

Now, any lifers here I would hope know that I couldn't give a toss about OT's. Yet, I lodged a complaint about one of them. I certainly did. Why? Cause the poster that created it just so happens to be a hypocrite of the highest order. He is always the first to (buzz), moan, and complain to The Mods, and not the hip English ones, whenever there happens to be an OT.

The reply indicated that, as of the morning, there were exactly 2 OT's, within 1st 2 pages, and properly marked for avoidance if desired. So no harm, no foul apparently.

The rules appear to be: As of morning. Exactly 2 OT's. Within first 2 pages. Provided properly marked.

Where to start. The OG OP gave me an idea. Simply continue his theme..death notices. But where exactly do I start? With Adam of course. The Very First. I have my work cut out for me with those tight restrictions..probably won't live long enough to get to New Testament.

I feel like this should be about Six Flags.

Remember the kiddie ride in the 80s that had model-T type cars on rails that was mysteriously called “The Moon”?

WHY

Morning Sunshine.

Funny you say that. Sister admitted to a hospice on Friday. Some of those belief systems have fallen into an awful lot of doubt and conjecture. Wish I had deeper wisdom and greater faith. Been there before and will be back again before my time ends no doubt.

Believe what you may believe provided it doesn't infringe upon others from exercising that same freedom.

There was a Ford dealer in Wichita that was having a hard time selling them due to concerns that the terrain was too rough for the suspension. He ran ads in the local gazette showing pics of the Model T on the cratered lunar surface. Made for earth, tough enough for the moon. Sales skyrocketed.

Several decades later his grandson just so happened to be a ride consultant for amusement parks and pitched the Model T Moon Theme. Apparently worked out fairly well as you still remember it vividly.

I had no other way of learning that, so thank you. It was like like a blast of air conditioning in the time tunnel.

Do Not Believe Everything That You Are Told.

Doubt Everything. Especially that yarn. Premature April Fools.
