Agreed. I live in a rural area with no cable or high speed internet. Direct TV was only option. Not sure why ownership it trying to kill what was once a top market

It's just silly that this is somehow a huge deal now. It's not like you could get games free over an antenna or something in the past. Times change. Adapt or sit there staring at a blank wall.
I think it has more to do with needing a different subscription to countless streaming services to be able to watch whatever you want. I remember the old cable days. It was watch this movie on this day at this time or miss your opportunity for a month. Not to mention a tv show. So things are more accessible today.
It’s needing different accounts for everything which quickly turns into 200-300 dollars worth of subscriptions an “oh by the way if you don’t pay extra for ad free service we are going to absolutely torture you with them” and “oh yeah pick 2 tvs that can be used because we won’t let you use any others”
It’s just the fact of having to manage yet another subscription that is what’s driving people insane. Including myself. Jmo

This may shock some of you, but some people won't be able to justify putting a hundred bucks on a Cardinals package.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 20:40 pmAlso, are we really going to believe people who spent enough on cable to have Fox Sports Midwest in the past don't have the money to pay for the internet or a smart phone? I recently read that those details will be announced on opening day.Shady wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 19:35 pmWhat channel will the "Cardinals TV" network be available on Spectrum cable without streaming?Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 19:31 pm Shady, I just read this. Is it wrong?
Yes, St. Louis Cardinals games will be available on Spectrum in 2026, but not through the previous network. Major League Baseball (MLB) is taking over production, with games airing on a new "Cardinals TV" network available on cable providers like Spectrum, as well as via streaming on MLB.com.

But they could afford a premium tier cable/streaming package in the past to get Cardinals games? Whatever.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 21:22 pmThis may shock some of you, but some people won't be able to justify putting a hundred bucks on a Cardinals package.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 20:40 pmAlso, are we really going to believe people who spent enough on cable to have Fox Sports Midwest in the past don't have the money to pay for the internet or a smart phone? Yup. In my case I can afford it but it’s customer service and arrogance. I have direct tv. If they show games on direct tv great. If they want me to pay just for cards im out. Its not worth my dollar to me.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 21:22 pmThis may shock some of you, but some people won't be able to justify putting a hundred bucks on a Cardinals package.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 20:40 pmAlso, are we really going to believe people who spent enough on cable to have Fox Sports Midwest in the past don't have the money to pay for the internet or a smart phone? Re: Cardinals are going to lose thousands of loyal viewers
Been paying $19.99 per month for the last couple years for bally/fanduel streaming, which got me the Blues in the winter and the Cardinals in the summer. As I have no interest in doubling that cost, I'll likely wait until the Blues season finishes before signing up for the Cardinals service. Not thrilled with this development.

Honestly no reason to wait to announce other than they haven't figured it all out yet. Which means some parts of it could still fall through.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 21:25 pmI recently read that those details will be announced on opening day.Shady wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 19:35 pmWhat channel will the "Cardinals TV" network be available on Spectrum cable without streaming?Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 19:31 pm Shady, I just read this. Be patient. Some deals won't be announced until right before the season starts. Cable/Satellite doesn't want to begin payments early and Cards TV, and others, want everyone to stream with the app if possible.

Good to see Shady already in midseason form... maybe the team's strongest ST performance

You mean the people who financially supported Cards Baseball for 60-70yrs, probably some of the most loyal hard core Cardinals fans, and now have limited budgets, limited abilities, and have very few things they can do…..waiting for the baseball season to start and watching the game for 3hrs in the evening? Those people?JohnnyMO wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 20:41 pmThis is what I always think. That same organizational arrogance is part of what emptied the stadium. Very few sellers thrive when they repeatedly disregard their customer base. See movie theaters as a prime example.Goldfan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 08:20 amYou mean the people who financially supported Cards Baseball for 60-70yrs, probably some of the most loyal hard core Cardinals fans, and now have limited budgets, limited abilities, and have very few things they can do…..waiting for the baseball season to start and watching the game for 3hrs in the evening? It's a business, nobody cares how you spend your time just how you spend your money. And the only loyalty is to tomorrows bottom line. Sad but true. It's entertainment industry. If people really have to worry about $99 then they aren't even on the food chain.Goldfan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 08:20 amYou mean the people who financially supported Cards Baseball for 60-70yrs, probably some of the most loyal hard core Cardinals fans, and now have limited budgets, limited abilities, and have very few things they can do…..waiting for the baseball season to start and watching the game for 3hrs in the evening? Entertainment industry is eyeballs……eliminating 20%? For no practical reason isn’t good business, especially for an entity that is bleeding eyeballs.shebashab wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 08:34 amIt's a business, nobody cares how you spend your time just how you spend your money.
