Future Cardinals outfield possibilities in two years
Saggese and Ledbetter in LF, Peete and Scott in CF, Baez and Jordan in RF. There is fine offensive potential in Baez, Peete, Ledbetter and Saggese. Scott and Walker ?? But athletes, for sure.

"Or" was likely more appropriate than "and". LOL But in the case of LF, a platoon of Saggese and Ledbetter is a possibility. Actually, Baez could still end up in CF. Opening up a trade for a stud corner outfielder. But I feel it will be Peete or Ledbetter in CF, Baez in RF in two or three years down the road. Saggese in LF. If Saggese can read the breaking balls better. Saggese thrives on hitting fast balls. Yes, I have confidence Saggese will make nice progress as a MLB hitter.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 18:20 pmAre you predicting an MLB rules change, Shady? Six outfielders instead of three?

Saggese is a 2B. This team needs to quit trying to put round pegs in square holes.
He will never be a full-time outfielder or anything else but a 2B.

Amen! This [nonsense] of moving everyone out of position is stupid. Hopefully Bloom changes this ridiculous dumb[ash].

Re: Future Cardinals outfield possibilities in two years
The only one I can see being in the OF in two years is J. Baez.
VSII is going to have to show he can get on base at a much better than his career .283 OB% or his great defense and speed won't be enough to hold the job.
The others have a lot to prove before they're even considered MLB players let alone starters.
I think C. Bloom will either trade for or sign at least one solid major league OF'er after the new CBA is in place, likely draft a kid who will fill the other slot in two-three years.

Yes, 13th pick in draft could be starting OF in couple years. Baez will be a starter too.rockondlouie wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 09:12 am

Hopefully he does but he sure didn’t do much in the offseason to prevent this needJuanAgosto wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 19:55 pmAmen! This [nonsense] of moving everyone out of position is stupid. Hopefully Bloom changes this ridiculous dumb[ash].

There you go, exactly the position I want them to draft at this year.ramfandan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 09:16 amYes, 13th pick in draft could be starting OF in couple years. Baez will be a starter too.rockondlouie wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 09:12 am

That would be one of the worst outfields in the history of outfields.

So how would it compare to the current Cardinals outfield ? The way things are shaping up. If just Baez is in the outfield in two years, it won't be " one of the worst outfields in the history of outfields".hornetfb52 wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 10:21 am That would be one of the worst outfields in the history of outfields.

You’re right. It will be slightly better than the worst outfield in the history of outfields. Fixed.Shady wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 11:50 amSo how would it compare to the current Cardinals outfield ? Add Mitchell to the outfielder possibilities in a couple years. The future outfield situation is looking pretty good.

Re: Future Cardinals outfield possibilities in two years
will he be able to cover that much ground? --- honestly you have to hope you can find at least one passable or better major league outfielder from the group they currently have, then maybe you get lucky in the draft or someone else in the lower minors blossoms or Bloom will have to find the other 2 outside of the organization.Shady wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 11:50 amSo how would it compare to the current Cardinals outfield ?
