Re: Breakout Game
I think people need to put on the breaks regarding Doyle coming up sometime this year, and I'm starting to worry about 2027. Liam needs to work on his control, hopefully it's just the jitters and he'll be fine.

So no 2026 and worries of 2027 based on 1 or two innings .DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 16:14 pm I think people need to put on the breaks regarding Doyle coming up sometime this year, and I'm starting to worry about 2027. Well, I watched the WBC final game and I saw a highly touted player struggle. In Fact, he struck out 3 of 4 times.
Something must have happened to him too.
I’m worried if he would remain on his mlb roster or sent down to AAA to regain his bat control. Last name is Judge ..big guy who plays for the Yankees. Maybe like Doyle it could possibly be jitters also either that or hr declined a lot over the winter.

To be fair, it's more than just an inning. The only tool Doyle has that is major league ready is his 70-grade fastball. We didn't just learn that today- he just demonstrated that today. He needs another high caliber pitch or two and improved command. He won't be in St Louis this year- he was never going to be in St Louis this year. He has work to do.

On the other hand, Franklin looked good stranding a leadoff double. I also really like undrafted Michael Watson, not a lot of power, but seems to know how to get hitters out. Could be a nice find for the BP sometime soon.

Re: Breakout Game
bottom of five, Joshua Baez brings Cards to within one run of the Nats with a 2-run HR (JJ with his second single was on base)

Re: Breakout Game
Limiting walks is a big part of command, but it's more than that. It's about getting your pitches to go where you want them- even within the zone. It's also about pitch shape.ramfandan wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 17:04 pmAgree with developing secondary pitches.. as for command here were hus 2025 numbers at Tenn,Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 16:42 pmramfandan wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 16:38 pmSo no 2026 and worries of 2027 based on 1 or two innings .DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026 16:14 pm I think people need to put on the breaks regarding Doyle coming up sometime this year, and I'm starting to worry about 2027.
