I’ve been to Spring Training many times, and there are more reasons St. Louisans go down to Jupiter than baseball. It’s to get out of the drab cold weather and spend some time in the sun, play some golf, hit the beach for awhile, and especially enjoy fresh seafood at one of the outstanding area restaurants. There are probably more reasons than the Cardinals rebuild if not as many people go this year. Perhaps inflation has taken a real bite of discretionary income.

What were your excuses for last season and what will be for this season.

Jupiter once and St. Pete years ago. I enjoyed it both times but didn't care the $100 ticket price and $10 beer price in Jupiter. But the place was sold out both games I saw in Jupiter. Cranny, I think even you have to admit until this team can showcase a star and a winning team they will not draw at today's prices, whether in spring training or regular season. Are you going down this year? I believe you missed last year.

And found it rather odd why a fan who’s only been to Jupiter once would ask a question of another fan who’s been there 15 times if he was going this year after not going last year. As noted, there are numerous reasons why attendance is down...I'm in Section 148 and at the end of last season there was a lot of grumbling about the lack of a star on the team and Mo-ran's incredible incompetence...plus, I would assume that for many older fans, the cost may be too expensive.
