Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
Leahy throws 3 pitches all in the center of the box and it is 2-0 Pirates instantly.
Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
Walker pops up to SS. He had a 6 pitch at bat where the pitcher threw down and in on 5 of those pitches and Walker swung at 2 of them. Not one pitch was in the K-Zone. Mechanics don't matter if Walker swings at balls.
Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
he just can't lay off low pitches - maybe willy can teach him how to hit those

Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
It’s what I’ve been saying. He hits the ball hard when he hits it his problem is poor plate plate approach and even worse pitch recognition until he fixes that the swing is irrelevant
Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
Please don't make me suffer and watch Kyle Leahy or Andre Pallante in the rotation this season.
Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
Pirates in 2nd get a single with 2 outs runners on 2nd & 3rd both scored 4-0 Pirates now

A Chase Davis sighting. Interested to see how that goes.
Agree on the Walker comments. Until he learns the strike zone, all other improvements are futile.
Agree on the Leahy/Pallante comment. Suffer was a great word choice. They have other options. I hope they use them.

I hope Leahy winds up back in the BP.
He was good there.
Dobbins or Mathews instead??

Wait a minute...
He was supposed to be part of that "depth".

I don't recall anyone saying they expected him to break camp with the big club. the hope was that he would make an appearance at some point in the season11WSChamps wrote: ↑01 Mar 2026 12:54 pmWait a minute...

Not directing this at you specifically.
But he's been seen by some as an option at some point as a starter if needed.

Re: Starting lineup for Cardnals today
As far as I'm concerned, the Cardinals for the most part, aside from Hererra, trotted the B team out there today.
