2 errors in 2 games at 2B. 1 game at SS. 1 game off. 1 game at DH.
I’m not a fan of moving them around. Biggest complaint I have of Oli’s management style. He ought to know where he wants his players to play. I understand trying Saggese out in the outfield, but decide on LF or CF. Quit moving them around. Edman had his best season when he only played second base. What kind of a manager doesn’t know where he wants to play his players? He wants versatility. Players need stability.
In his college and minor league career, Wetherholt played 114 games at SS, 92 games at 2B, and 67 games at 3B. He is very capable at all 3 positions. Right now, other players are being moved around on the IF to see how they can perform. Once the regular season starts, Wetherholt will have a regular starting position.

And it won't be ss or third base.

Correct, unless there is an injury.

Watch JJ’s front foot and head. Head and eyes on ball through contact with leg planted.
That’s my biggest peeve with our hitting instructors. All they have to do is show video of our great hitters and see their eyes on the ball meeting the bat. Musial, McGwire, Pujols, Simmons, Edmonds, Walker, Yadi, Holliday etc. Gorman is going to break his neck yanking it to pull. Whitey or Tony would have fixed it without hitting coaches.
Even on Gormans opposite field HR a couple days ago his front leg was bailing out. He rarely keeps his head on the ball through swing and keeps his right leg in. If he did he would be lethal. I have no idea how and who let him progress through the Cards system hitting like that let alone being promoted to MLB
Thats why I’m so disappointed that we didn't change the manager and coaches. We did in the minors but not at the big league level. Cant understand why Chaim would sign on to the insanity of expecting different results.
You guys crack me up.
Which part of the crackery is your favorite?

If Wetherholt is taking reps on a back field every day then I understand what they are doing but the usage thus far makes no sense.

Do you really think the only time JJ gets any groundballs during spring is in the games? 8O

See the ball, hit the ball. The simpler the better. Stop pulling the ball and be aggressive in the strike zone early in the count so that you do not fall behind and give the pitcher a further advantage. It's all simple. Walker was fine until our hitting coaches got hold of him. Musial never worried about his launch angle.

I would have him spending a lot of time with a retired second baseman like Biggio did when he converted to 2B and worked extensively with Bill Doran. Last year Wetherholt only played 20 games at 2B. I'm not confident they have a plan. Similar to Liberatore being a starter, then a reliever, then back to starter.

Ted Williams agrees. KISS: Keep it simple stupid.

I don't know what to tell you guy. You don't seem to understand what people are telling you. JJ can play 2B. It isn't NEW to him in the least bit.
