Well naturally the low attendance was due to the opponents, in this case STL. Had it been the Rockies, they would surely have sold out.

Ha. My attempt at humor.
Yesterday at a quick glance only the Guardians drew less than the Cardinals, 3385 to the Cardinals 3,746 unless I missed one.

You are comparing Cardinal attendance vs. all the other teams training in Florida without taking into consideration that teams play in varying population areas.
Jupiter has approximately 63,000 people. Other teams play in much larger population areas .
Fir examples, Csrds formerly played in St. Pete . That is currently 270,000 population. Over 4 times bigger.
Comparing attendance , Old red, is truly apples to oranges.

I've been to spring training. In that area it is one municipality next to another. I've also been there when a ticket was hard to come by. All I'm doing is showing how interest in the Cardinals in Florida is also down.

Why should there be concern about the home attendance in Spring Training? Jupiter is on the northern tip of the southeast suburbs as opposed to where most of the other teams train.

Do you really think they would have added the luxury boxes if they didn't expect to fill them? Basically, I don't care, just see the decline from years past.

That decline is baseball wide.

No, it is not. Not spring training or last year in the regular season.

4,900 at the Mets game today. And they had Soto in the lineup. What does that say about them?

4,003 at the Braves game. Had practically their entire starting lineup against Skenes

It's not just a Cardinals thing

Not looking for excuses .. just possible added reasons for lower attendance . Yes, agree that the product has declined . Adding to that is the steep decline in winter population from Canada . It is estmated that there are 90,000 less Canadians in Florida this year ...

Factors contributing to this decline include a low Canadian dollar, high travel costs, new border hassles, and political tensions.

Significant Declines: Some data sources indicate a 36.5% drop in Canadian visitors to Florida.

Visitor Numbers: In the third quarter of 2025, Florida saw 507,000 Canadian visitors, down from 597,000 in the same period of 2024.

Industry Impact: Local tourism and real estate businesses are experiencing a "soft" market, with some service providers reporting that a majority of their Canadian clients are not returning.

Shifting Preferences: Instead of Florida, many snowbirds are choosing alternative destinations, including staying in Canada (such as Vancouver Island) or exploring other international locations.

Disney is certainly seeing a sharp decline in Canadians visting their parks. Baseball stadiums must be affected as well though unsure if they track their tix sales similarly.

LOL. Silly stuff. There's a lot more think about besides crowds. Like Fitts hitting 98 on the gun. Dobbins ability to throw at a similar high velocity. May's ceiling. Etc.

Never been to a Spring Training Game.
But if I did live in Florida I was thinking that I might choose to go to games later in the exhibition season.
The reason for me?
Early games are usually void of the star players.

A reasonable reason.

6871 is capacity. They drew about 55 percent of that. On a cool weekday. Before spring break.

I’d say they are on glide path to 5 K reasonably.
Why does that only affect the Cardinals?
It doesn’t. Are you saying every other venue but STL is over 55 percent full daily?

If the attendance elsewhere is higher by percent, you have a good point. If the ratio is similar, then I stand on more people will show during spring breaks.
If 55 percent is the daily take, that’s about 26,000 at STL. On a cold midweek game. There’s room for improvement.
