Jacob Crews

Post by Basil Shabazz »

He really has no place in the rotation anymore. Has not been a three-point weapon that he has been in the past. Doesn’t rebound particularly well, doesn’t play defense, particularly well, and at best is a single faceted at offensive player. I just don’t see what he brings to the rotation. I’d rather give Boateng or somebody else the minutes he is getting.

Boateng is out until next October. Otherwise, I agree that Crews's output is way off.

Thanks ED. I forgot Boateng was out.

Gotta play somebody. Who'd you have in mind? Will Porter be back this season? What's his injury?

I agree that Crews is one dimensional, but he is one of the better 3pt shooters on the team. Remember when Matt Lawrence couldn’t get on the court under Snyder his freshman year, as Quinn couldn’t not figure a way to use him. Then SuitcaseMike came and started building sets to get him the ball and I think as a Sophomore he was one of the top 1-2 scorers on the team. It feels like Gates interchanges players and feels like they all should play the same role instead of using each person strengths. Crews should not be handling the ball or working down low. He should be a catch and shoot from 3 type only.

Crews came in one dimensional. He no longer is. That being said, if the 3s aren't falling, he needs to sit

It’s surprising how far Crews and Robinson have fallen. Both offer very little to this team. Crews was never going to be a multi dimensional player but I remember before the season started his goal was to make 100 3s this year. That’s a tic more than 3 a game. He’s nothing more than a guy to help give the others a blow when they need it.

Robinson appears to be playing for the portal, taking multiple defenders on and not assissting and moving the ball.

I think he looks pretty similar to what he always has. Which is why it is noticeable to see a different PG get others going.

How about T. O. with Mitchell, Pierce, Burns and Phillips. Take turns with alley oops?

This season, Crews has gone from very valuable offensively to a dud. Not sure what his problem is but he is an anchor to this team right now. The only thing he offers now is a bad attitude. Robinson has turned into Crews Light. Those two were highly counted on to be positive influences this year. They’re not and we’re screwed.

If it's a criticism of a player or a coach with no substance, you immediately know, no need to look.

It's probably Rojo, but then again, he is in a long line
