Good morning.
1-1. Every year I generally do three of these- off season, Spring Traing, and regular season.
Now that we see the roster, we can better select. They have 28 games left.
Against- Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Houston Mets, Nats. And Miami.
I’ll take the middle ground- 15-15.
One game is a prospect game, and one against the Honduran National team.
Any thoughts.

Re: Predict- Spring Training Record
I think it's unfair or unimportant may be a better word to predict spring trading games. Teams aren't always trying to win. So many in and out of the lineup, trying experiments at new positions, pitchers just working on and throwing one pitch, playing against other players who will be sacking groceries in a couple of weeks. On and on. So it's just too many variables. That said, they will win a few. Give people hope.
Re: Predict- Spring Training Record
The 'record' for Spring Training is quite meaningless . Unless you are a home game, the team is guaranteed a minimum of 27 at bats.
Players usually get no more than 2 plate appearances . The purpose is to see as 'many' players of the horde at camp to see how they look at the plate in LIVE action. Very few starting jobs are up for grabs in Spring Training and actually of the ton of kids there , Bloom and Oli already have a pretty good idea of the final roster... maybe 2 or 3 position players are vying for the final team and same with pitchers.
Winning or losing the game is the furthest thing from their mind.
Like a pro golfer who plays a practice round at tournament course a day prior to the tournament. He won't even keep score of his round. He is working on executing shots NOT how low he can score .

I know. Just for fun. Something to talk about. Usually leads to tangent discussions.passthebuck wrote: ↑23 Feb 2026 07:46 am I think it's unfair or unimportant may be a better word to predict spring trading games. Good analogy. The golfer.ramfandan wrote: ↑23 Feb 2026 07:59 am The 'record' for Spring Training is quite meaningless . Unless you are a home game, the team is guaranteed a minimum of 27 at bats.

I’d argue that winning does enter the mind. It would be notable if they went 1-29.
I think ST is very important as it is the only real opportunity most kids get.
I still think winning cures all that ails.
Re: Predict- Spring Training Record
ST is important to the youngsters. I agree with you on that but the 'winning' isn't considered at all . To demonstrate that , I believe that is games are tied after 9 innings, the game is STOPPED ! No extra innings. Managers do not wish to tax more innings from the pitchers. If 'winning' was so important, then the managers would want a final outcome. The fact they do NOT go extra innings should prove that to everyone. They could care less about the final score.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2026 08:04 amGood analogy. Re: Predict- Spring Training Record
Nope. Winning is not important, but apparently the ever critical ST lineup construction is make or break critical
Re: Predict- Spring Training Record
Guessing what color underwear each player is wearing would be just as productive.
