I like Herrera but I'm afraid he has TO syndrome. He sure seems to be injured a lot.

He just had offseason surgery. This isn't a new injury.

I believe it was soreness from having bone spurs removed from his throwing elbow.

Do you think this is real or is this just the "way" Herrera bows out from catching (meaning both the organization and he know it and will be used as cover for a positional change/DH role again.)?

I don’t see a reason for that. Why would they have to cover for a change. He DH most of last year because of the elbow. As anyone that has had surgery knows it can get sore after you think it’s healed.

Actually he hasn't been cleared yet to throw in game action.

He's been throwing a weighted ball, should get game clearance to catch soon.
