Re: Att: 4,267
When we took the family to ST it was more of an event type thing for us instead of scrutinizing the ballclub.
Getting some autographs and the atmosphere of being more accessible to the players and just the experience was the focus then.
And we went in March as opposed to February.

When I went just before the Pandemic, it was near impossible to get a ticket.11WSChamps wrote: ↑22 Feb 2026 07:59 am When we took the family to ST it was more of an event type thing for us instead of scrutinizing the ballclub.

Here is what other teams drew in attendance yesterday:
Orioles 6,934
Twins 7,638
Rays 5,354
Yankees 9,778
Blue Jays 7,243
Mets 6,293
Cleveland 5,669'
Royals 6,431
Cubs 12,073
White Sox 3,420
D-Backs 10,185
Angels 9,631
Mariners 8,559
Brewers 3,797
It really has nothing to do with spring break. Years ago, a good portion of the Cardinal attendance was from local people. I think we have to admit Cardinal interest is down.

Going by your argument, in 2019, pre-covid, the Cards first ST game at Roger Dean drew 4,831 fans. A difference of 600 fans. Big deal since this team is rebuilding and has no real marketable stars currently.OldRed wrote: ↑22 Feb 2026 08:16 amWhen I went just before the Pandemic, it was near impossible to get a ticket.11WSChamps wrote: ↑22 Feb 2026 07:59 am When we took the family to ST it was more of an event type thing for us instead of scrutinizing the ballclub.

This what I was getting at. Attendance is going to be terrible in St. Louis also this year.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2026 08:19 amGoing by your argument, in 2019, pre-covid, the Cards first ST game at Roger Dean drew 4,831 fans. It is what it is. Nobody is going to be shocked that attendance is down this year. I'm very much looking forward to watching the young guys this season and hopefully in a couple years we'll be back at the top and the non hardcore fans will return.OldRed wrote: ↑22 Feb 2026 08:30 amThis what I was getting at. Re: Att: 4,267
Why do we need ST attendance numbers to show that? Look at Busch during real games and look at TV ratings. It's clear as day. There isn't actually much unique about Cardinals fans. If the team blows, then fans won't show, just like any other fanbase. And that's ok. It's the way it should be.

Hand wringing over attendance...do you have stock in owning the Cards?

6871 is capacity. They drew about 55 percent of that. On a cool weekday. Before spring break.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 08:02 am Hand wringing over attendance...do you have stock in owning the Cards?
I’d say they are on glide path to 5 K reasonably.

Why does that only affect the Cardinals?sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 08:07 am6871 is capacity. They drew about 55 percent of that. On a cool weekday. Before spring break.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 08:02 am Hand wringing over attendance...do you have stock in owning the Cards?

It doesn’t. Are you saying every other venue but STL is over 55 percent full daily?OldRed wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 08:48 amWhy does that only affect the Cardinals?sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2026 08:07 am6871 is capacity. If the attendance elsewhere is higher by percent, you have a good point. If the ratio is similar, then I stand on more people will show during spring breaks.
