Cardinals on TV
I called DirecTv today. I’ve watched the Cardinals starting with Fox Sports MidWest though Bally Sports, and then FanDuel on DirecTv.
After calling three different numbers, being put on hold three times and transferred several more times, I finally got to talk to someone who could help me out! Thank you Joy! Anyway, Joy told me that they were presently in negotiations with MLB and CardinalsTV, but hadn’t reached any kind of a deal yet. She said that they should know something by opening day, March 26th. She couldn’t say whether my costs would go up or not. I currently have the Choice package, which gave access to FanDuel. By dropping that package for the lesser “Entertainment” package, but adding the “Sports Pack” to it, I could retain almost all of the same sports channels i currently receive except FanDuel and those channels, and of course the CardinalTV, which they don’t have an agreement with yet. By doing this my costs would go from $174/month to $141.99/month.
So if DirecTv doesnt sign on with CardinalTV, or they do and raise their monthly costs, I could still come out ahead. CardinalTV costs $19.99/month, or $99.99/year.
I’m thinking of trying the app through Spring Training, which cost me the $19.99. Then I should know what my other options are.
Hope this is helpful to others!

Re: Cardinals on TV
I9 for one am not going to pay one frigging dime to watch a minor league team play. Is this another money grab for the Dumwitt family? I hope the Cardinals don't win 1 frigging game
Re: Cardinals on TV
That's about the same story I got on the second call. First call the lady didn't have a clue and kept saying they would be on FanDuel. Hopefully something can be worked out, or it will be KMOX this season.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026 22:20 pm I called DirecTv today. Re: Cardinals on TV
Either BDW’s are attempting to alienate the Stl fan base
Or
BDW III is the most clueless buffoon to ever be in the execute MLB suite.
There is no gray area
They’re waiting until opening day to maybe have a DirecTV or Spectrum option??
Perhaps the under 35 crowd only knows streaming and Apps but the Majority of Cards TV viewing fanbase are above 35

Re: Cardinals on TV
It's been obvious FanDuel wasn't going to make it for months but maybe they could not start negotiating a new deal until FanDuel did not make the payment in December.
Cardinals were also going to get about $40 million less per year with FanDuel than they did two years ago so that is a lot of lost revenue. They are probably trying to avoid losing even more with the new contracts with DirecTV and Spectrum.
As was said I think they lose a lot of older viewers if they don't work it out but almost everyone can stream even though they may not want to and that includes me. I like being able to hop between several channels especially during Cardinal games which are likely to go south. I did hook up an antenna so I can watch the games on Matrix.
I don't think these pro teams are well managed at all- they survive because people like sports and they have a monopoly in their markets.

if direct does not pick up a cardstv channel .....perhaps it will be included in the Extra Innings package?
cost is roughly the same and you get all 30 teams
in the past, they have blacked out the direct extra innings package channel in deference to the local channel......but if there is no local channel??
Re: Cardinals on TV
Thanks, I’ll check into it.45s wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026 09:56 amsomething you might researchHoosier59 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026 22:20 pm I called DirecTv today. I’ve watched the Cardinals starting with Fox Sports MidWest though Bally Sports, and then FanDuel on DirecTv.

Re: Cardinals on TV
All Cardinal Games via DirecTV will appear in the Extra Inning Channel Tier 720-749
All games, home and road announcers in one package

Re: Cardinals on TV
Just basically forcing you to buy mlb extra innings to watch the cards....if you in market it used to be blacked out until after it's over then you can watch it
