They feel like they are underachieving and they were hit by the injury bug. Which teams make the most sense to trade with? For me, the two I would be talking to with "retooling rosters" would be Ottawa and Toronto. It seems those two teams seem to be sitting in the same spot the Blues are.

As far as teams that could benefit from a couple Blues players and have a prior relationship? Seems like Detroit is the answer there.

Who else would you guys be talking to from a history perspective or stuck in the same spot?
The Islanders might be an intriguing location for Kryou as well.
And Kyrou would waive NTC to Islanders because why?

Its New York? The team is young, fast, and competitive. Seems like a pretty good place to be if you're someone good at offense and shooting pucks.

Thomas and top ten protected 2027 1st to San Jose for Misa

Kyrou to Mon Reinbacher and Zharovsky

Faulk(1/2 retained) and Suter(1/2 retained) to Boston for Dean Letourneau, Andrew Peeke and Bos 2026 1st

Schenn, Parayko and Binnington to Pittsburgh for a few roster players and Will Horcroft, Bill Zonnon, PITT 1st, 2nd and WIN 2nd

Detroit, L.A., Montreal, & San Jose have the kind of prospects who the Blues should be foaming at the mouth for, problem is all of them GM’s would most likely be laughin their buttocks off at the potential returns, if Army sticks to his ‘Gimme a dollar for fiddy sense’ strategy.

Thomas and Kyrou are going nowhere. That's just crazy talk by the "pundit's" to generate clicks.

Boston has a ton of buying power with four 1st round picks over the next 2 years. They make a lot of sense for Faulk and have the assets to pull it off.

Schenn makes a lot of sense for Detroit. They have the assets to make something happen, just not sure they're willing to part with them(I'd love to land MBN or Bear).

SJ makes a lot of sense for Sunny. Dellandrea and Ostapchuk haven't been reliable as the 4th line center and he would give them a veteran voice in the room. Probably don't get a ton for him, but they could easily dangle Mukhamadullin or Bystedt which is enough to make me bite.

Exactly. Thomas literally came out yesterday and said his injury dates back to last season and some how “sources” think now is a good time to maximize his return
:D These formerly reliable pundits are nothing more than clickbait prostitutes now throwing anything out there to generate clicks and generate traffic for their podcasts. I can’t tell if it’s more sad or embarrassing.

I personally think there’s no way Kyrou isn’t gone by next season.

Because he’s open to leaving and the Islanders are currently in the playoffs.
When did Kyrou say that?

Unlike kimzey I don't think it's crazy talk that there are conversations about both Kyrou and Thomas. I do not think it's pure clickbaitery. but whether the deals make sense is another story.

Right now San Jose seeing Celebrini emerge as legitimate right now as a top 1C has a major opportunity to contend quickly if they had Celebrini-Thomas down the middle in just a couple weeks. Of course it would be incredible to get Misa in a Thomas deal. but we can't drive too hard a bargain there because Celebrini's emergence creates a lot of room for a guy like Misa to emerge right behind fairly naturally.

Also for anyone questioning the Islanders, two of this league's most obvious next true superstars are on the Sharks (Celebrini) and Isles (Schaefer). Guys understand those kinds of teams often get good fast, they want to be on them. They are also in two of the largest markets. I'm just saying it's not a hard sell if a team looks ascendant and soon.

A team that has it’s top 2 centers under 21 years old needs a center?

San Jose needs RD that is 23 or younger. If you want the high pick the d you offer needs to be better than Chase Reid whom they can just draft.

If you’re asking for prospects from SJ you can look at Eklund or the guys stuck on the Barracuda.

Thinking you can ask for Misa or Dickenson is just insanity.

Not necessarily from a “history” standpoint point.

But th Florida Panthers are absolutely someone we should be talking to about that 9th Overall pick.

Binnington’s
Kyrou

Not sold on the specifics of that deal, but yeah Florida has every reason to flip their pick for players that can help immediately. It’s very plausible that they could rebound next year and contend again with the right moves.

Given Winnipeg’s season, they might as well work out a trade w/Hellebuyck
