I think 125 is a fair number.

Assuming everyone stays healthy:
Gorman - 28
Herrera - 25
Burleson - 23
JJ - 18
Winn - 15
Saggese - 12
Crooks/Pages - 14
Church - 5
Scott - 5
Fermin - 4
Walker - ? Who knows
I think that’s 153. add in a few more for call ups and bench guys and say 160 for the year.

1982 team was 92-70. They had 67 homeruns and 200 stolen bases.

Three players, Silent George, Keith, and Porter had 50 of them, led by Hendricks 19.

The franchise record is 10 in 1906. Most think 1982 as the barometer.

For comparison, the 78 Cubs hit 72 hoeruns, and went 79-83.
Question- does this team challenge the “record.”
I don't see them challenging the 67 HRs.

Let's take a look at last year's HR stats and go from there .
Team had 148 HR's
They lost the following : Contreras 20, Arenado 12, Donovan 10 so that's 42 HR's .. 148 - 42= 106

Then from 106 what will the following players add in 2026 ?
Wetherholt ? (Note: In 2025, he hit 17 HR's in minors in 109 games .. what will that translate into a longer MLB season but at major league pitching level .. will let you pick your own number how many HR's he gets in 2026
Gorman (hit 14 last year ) ?
Walker ( 6 last year in 111 games )
Scott 5
Burlly 18

So with players lost , the Cardinals sit at 106 HR's Add on what you think for 2026 . Also figure a Josua Baez may play some in 2026 ? What HR's might he contribute

Note" The Pirates had the fewest HR's in 2025 with 117

So no way does this year's team challenge the record IMO.... not even close
The team will hit 160+ HR in 2026.
I provide my personal guarantee - which is the strongest MLB available anywhere, anytime, from anyone.

I’m hoping they duplicate 1982 in every aspect!

1982
68 home runs and 200 SB
WS Winner

2025
148 homers and 89 SB
Cellar Dweller

For those that weren't conscious back in 82, trust me on this, WhiteyBall.was a lot more exciting than 3 True Outcome SnoozeBall.

I think this team has more power than you might think

Herrera (if he DH's when he doesnt catch)- has sneaky 30 HR potential
Burly- playing everyday at 1B could get 22-25 HR
Winn- had 15 2 years ago, I think he could match that or get close to 20

Gorman and Walker are the question marks
Gorman-has the POTENTIAL to get close to 30
Walker- I would be happy if he gets close to his 2023 total of 16. Im thinking more like 12-14 though

JJ- How much playing time? If he plays every single day even against lefties and even through the struggles, could he get 15-18?

They had 148 last year. I think they could get over 150 this year

That’s an average of one a game.
And only one in every 13 games more than in 2025.
Fairly easily accomplished since their best HR hitters will now get a lot more PA's - unless the incompetent Marmot yet again screws up the playing time across the roster.

I have guaranteed a minimum of 160.
It will happen.
As certain as sunrise.

1982 - stolen bases

2026 - stolen aces

Card pay Gray, but he pitches for Red Sox
