Hopefully the USA can do their part and give us the final everybody wants. If not, I’m all aboard the Canada train

Same with the Canadian girl flying 100 mph into the boards after a soft push from the USA player late in the 3rd yesterday. They must teach that up north.

That was indeed quite an acting job, but stick did touch the face… Canada really has a couple of guys that are “unlikeable”… stone i always consider a cheat, Wilson…

My personal rooting order:

1) Slovakia (with Dvo scoring 4 goals).
2) Canada (go Winnington).
3) Some kind of act of God that prevents the game from happening.
4) US with obvious cheating and shame to accompany it.
5) US wins legit.

A football/soccer move frankly. A penalty I guess but with that reaction an embellishment would not have been out of line. A cheap way to win a game. Guarantee if Rantanen or Esa Lindell did the same thing to draw a penalty people would be howling. But I am a homer so I will take it.

Haha, naw. I don't get in a twist over any of it, and I don't really watch the ladies anyway. I just suffer from Groucho Marx syndrome, so I can't root for the US. No harm, no foul.

Canada has really evolved into the "soft" version of hockey with high skill whereas the USA has gone for the grit over the last 20 years. I think that changing of the guard started around the miracle on ice days. The USA players have interviews saying that Canada called the USA brand of hockey soft and too much speed. So they rebranded themselves to be the physical guys to get people off their game. It's very noticeable today and theres a reason why Canada has to have the marchand, wilson, bennett group out there. If those guys aren't around, they would have gotten bullied by basically everyone in the tourney.

I'm not saying I watched every game this Olympics but I've watched a bit. Those whistles appeared extra quick for Canada when they needed it the last 2 games. That was a high stick but that guy was johnny on the spot for that thing. And that stick to the hands at the end of last game could have been a penalty and in NHL has been an auto penalty.

I really hope the USA finds a way and doesn't make this one a barn burner. They will be feeling more pressure at the end of this one than any team in the tourney if they don't get themselves a big lead. I'd venture to guess the majority of the world is looking for them to choke this.
